"Duplicate the base and make a color fill layer, #00FFFF (ofc you can pick any color you want :D). Set it to screen and merge down. Then set that layer to darken."
-- me, i dont undergo the "screen" part. after i made the color fill layer, i set it to darken. just wanna share :)

This is a cool tutorial. I think the only thing that got confusing was the way you worded how to move the layer down so the color would show. It took me a couple minutes of playing around to figure out what you meant. Besides that, I loved the effect and will definitely be using this again. Thanks! (:
