I was going along real well with no problems until it came to the link to download; Is there another way to download the psd you provided? It isn't working for me.

Do not get me wrong, I do enjoy your tutorials and I am appreciative that you make them. However, were you not in their shoes when you were new to photoshop? I think you should just consider how the other person feels when you say stuff like that to them. Being a teacher, I expect kids not to remember some things such as, adverbial clauses, gerunds, and prepositionals even though they learned them the previous year. But I cannot yell at them "Are you stupid? You should've learned this last year, this is CLEARLY a class for JUNIORS. Did your schedules not say for JUNIOR students?" etc.

Okay, so one-third of what she said was a complaint; however, the rest was hinting how you could be more specific. It is their fault that they did not see the tiny blue wording stating that this is an advanced tutorial. "I don't think I should waste my time explaining so many things, when CLEARLY, this tutorial was submitted for advanced users." You don't want to waste your time with these little things but you waste your time trying to defend yourself here and "flame" at people? "Are you freaking kidding? Did I not mention that you MUST know the most BASIC photoshop actions. If I told anyone that uses photoshop to flatten their layers, they would know EXACTLY what that meant. Same goes for the pen tool. Anyone that has experience with photoshop either uses the pentool once in their experiences. I'm not about to spend a million years stating EVERY little description. Oh and more thing, before you have the arrogance to say anything, lets see your submissions, your work. This tutorial CLEARLY says its for advanced users. Not people that dont know what 'flatten layers' Means." Instead of wasting your time writing that, all you had to do was say: "To flatten: layers > flatten image." Also, "Oh and more thing, before you have the arrogance to say anything, lets see your submissions, your work." I hope you know you just proved yourself a hypocrite.

"Flatten Layers" If I told anyone that has fully experienced with this program, they would know what it means. I'm not to go about wasting my time adding EVERY little detail. "I got extremely lost" is not criticism, it is blatant complaining, WITHOUT stating the issues. I understand if someone did not get a step, but not understanding the most basic of things is unacceptable. I don't think I should waste my time explaining so many things, when CLEARLY, this tutorial was submitted for advanced users.

" 'I... got extremely lost. I mean, no offense or anything, but... Sometimes, you're not specific on certain steps so it confused me extremely.' This is the same thing as going into a restaurant and telling them 'Your food sucks.' " Actually, it isn't the same. Munchmunch112 didn't say "Your Tutorial sucks" she said she was confused and hinted that maybe you could be more specific. It's constructive criticism. If you were to post a tutorial you should know people will criticize you and even in any situation, people criticize. All you had to do was what manny-the-dino did and say how to flatten. You make people seem as if they're ignorant; even if it does say for "advanced" photoshop users. You make a tutorial to help people, do you not?

I love how you use your own ideas to create original tutorials with common Photoshop filters

I'm sorry if I came off as rude, I didn't intend for it to seem as though I was being rude. It wasn't the flattening the layers or the pen tool part, and it truly was a good tutorial, there were just a few parts that confused me and I was struggling through them. That's all. Again, I apologize if people thought I came off as rude. That wasn't my intention.

this tutorial is great(:
how can you be so lost when
flattening an image? but whatever.
i guess so. yes, it was rude for you
to say that: munchmunch112

i agree. it says advanced up the top, and if you dont know how to flatten an image, then go to a bigginers tutorial.

Posted by only1ebbz on Feb 3, 08 8:13 am

hey, what photoshop version do you use?
i have cs 8.0... and i don't have the displace & distort filter =/
so whatt would i do next. i'm at "Now, go to Filter, distort, and displace (Image below)" that part.

No, this tutorial isnt meant to teach you how to use the pen tool. If I taught you how to use the pen tool in this tutorial, it would take a whole different tutorial to explain how many functions the pen tool has. I'm sorry if I was rude, but people seem to be so inconsiderate, coming off as though I am here, to solely serve their every demand. When you ask someone for help, try and be courteous. Dont comment , "I... got extremely lost. I mean, no offense or anything, but... Sometimes, you're not specific on certain steps so it confused me extremely." This is the same thing as going into a restaurant and telling them "Your food sucks." Can you have enough respect to state your issues? And if your issues are you dont know how to use the most basic photoshop methods, than I can't help you. Like manny-the-dino, not only did she understand what FLATTEN the layers means, its was extremely simple. All you had to do it right click your layers, and flatten layers.. I tried making this tutorial as short as possible, because honestly, I myself hate tutorials that seem so long. So yes, I am sorry for any rudeness :)

Posted by IBangBaby on Feb 1, 08 11:56 pm

Gosh, I mean really. You didn't have to be so harsh. :[
I was only saying I didn't know how to flatten the layers, that's all. But you're just being extremely rude. How do you expect to get good reviews with that kind of attitude? You're telling people to shut up just because they don't know how to use the pen tool. But isn't that what a tutorial is for? To teach people how to do something? And I wasn't being arrogant, as you may say. Didn't I say it wasn't a flame? I love your tutorial, just explain things better. That's all.

Damn, lighten up a bit.
