I don't know exactly where to put this and I'm pretty sure this kinda falls under advertisments but it's for a really good reason. =)
I put it in school cause resumes can always do with a little padding and we young people should (keyword: should) do something for the community. Things to Know
Peer Health Exchange Eligibility: College Student Mission: College student volunteers are trained to teach a comprehensive health curriculum to high schools. Most of these schools are at or below the poverty line. Many of them do not have the funding for a health course. Locations:

Idk if this is too general (and they're not organizations I would generally put on a resume), but I support:
PETA 2 eligibility: anyone mission: animal rights / awareness location: worldwide (online) website: http://www.peta2.com HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) eligibility: anyone mission: animal rights / rescue / awareness location: worldwide (online) website: http://www.hsus.org WWF (World Wildlife Fund) eligibility: anyone mission: species preservation / awareness location: worldwide (online) website: http://www.wwf.org Freerice eligibility: anyone mission: end world hunger, one grain at a time. location: worldwide (online) website: http://www.freerice.com TWLOHA (To Write Love on Her Arms) eligibility: anyone mission: help with depression, suicide / awareness location: worldwide (online) website: http://www.twloha.org We Can Solve it eligibility: anyone mission: global warming solutions / go green / awareness location: worldwide (online) website: http://www.wecansolveit.org I guess they are kind of general, but I couldn't think of anything more school/education-related |

Free The Children
Eligibility: pretty much anyone, but it's primarily for kids to help other kids Goal: "to free children from poverty and exploitation and free young people from the notion that they are powerless to affect positive change in the world." Locations: Canada, the United States, Japan, China, Mexico, Kenya, Sri Lanka, etc. Website: www.freethechildren.com Seriously, it's a fantastic cause. I had the privilege to hear the founder (Craig Kielburger) speak last year, and he is a truly an inspiration. |
