Hey, guys, sorry I didn't check in here when I was online last night... for once I actually genuinely forgot to check into Feedback, hence missing the reorg thread as well. Sad times...

I'm going to make a point of trying to actually start some topics as well as just joining in over the next little while.

The only thing is I have essay deadline sup until next thursday, so I'll be a little stretched. I'll work on it though.

Although yanners does have a point, I am time zoneally challenged, despite being somewhat nocturnal.

it feels as if 80% of the mods have disappeared.

Apparently there's another 20% of mods that needs to be abolished as well.

Some are cut out to be mods, most really aren't and I have no clue why they're even in that superiority level.

I don't think mods are put in place to be "superior" to anyone else here.

Exaaactly.... nor are they meant to abuse any rules at any given time when they feel is ok to do so.

Well, yeah.

Tamacracker - if you have a problem with a specific staff member/s or aspect of CB either go ahead and spit it out already or suck it up. If you don't feel like you can announce your reservations publically; PM a staff member who you feel you can communicate your problems to.

I don't feel as if moderators had a significant forum presence before, anyway, but people have other things to do, especially at this time. The criticism would be more constructive at another time.

I completely disagree with that. Previous to the current mods, many of the mods (and in all of this, I'm referring to only People Staff, DS doesn't matter) had a strong presence around these forums. People Staff are modded not only to just mod the general forums, but to keep the forums moving. Sure, everyone's busy at this time of the year, whether we're regular/official members or mods. But if all PS does right now, is to comment on just one or two subforums and talk backstage, I don't feel as if they're really doing their jobs.

And are you saying that just because people are busy, that my criticism of not having mods around is invalid? Obviously, none of you are paid to work here, which makes 'modding' just whatever spare time you may have. But if mods can't devote time to cb, even if it's just 15-20 minutes a day or so, to pop in, visit a couple of subforums and comment on certain things, then I think that they should step down.

So many previous mods have been demoted or have stepped down due to this. Not because they don't come on every day, but they don't make their presence seen enough that it was seen as inactivity.

Nah, I basically misspoke. I was talking about the new People Staff moderators, not in all of history of moderators on CreateBlog. There was already a discussion about how moderators should work together and act like a team rather than having our (in general) own personal brand of dysfunction. I wasn't invalidating your statement of having all of the moderators step up their game; I was saying that the moderators weren't really working well together in the first place. Hence, you know, persuading a few to step down from staff. I can't speak for them, though.

Instead of replying in MP with "take out the image tags", why not PM the person instead or use your energy to take out the image tags? It's annoying reading a reply that has nothing to do with the topic.

That goes to Cristy. That's all I ever see her doing.

Mods will no longer be editing posts of people who have been here long enough to know the rules. Instead, you will receive one reminder (a post made after yours or a PM) before a verbal warning and then eventually a warning for repeat offenses.

To answer your question, "verbal warnings" have been issued in the past for this, but we've recently discussed already that this is slightly inefficient. Instead, when it happens, an automatic raised warning level will happen (since a 10% warning increase is nothing, especially since OMs only get demoted at 20% now) - the member will be contacted and hopefully this will stop happening.

I don't really see why you wouldn't still edit them if leaving tags in is a problem.

S-Majere deserves a promotion if possible. Finally she has listened to me and has taken action to get rid of bnox after gettin caught having multiple usernames. I applaud you S-Majere, you rock.

For all of you who had doubt... I dislike you. JK... but I have to say this though, I TOLD YOU SO! tease.gif

Here's a hint, she doesn't deserve to hold the position she has, and many people know and can agree to this, someone such as yourself does. Get rid of her and you'd get rid of a lot of problems.
