Although, it doesn't suit my taste, the layout is not that bad. While it may not suit your taste or standards, that doesn't mean it won't appeal to someone else. And lastly, I would like to refer to you to this topic. I'm thinking all of the above was going through the mind of whomever accepted it.

Yeah, thats true. I think, us cBers need to take a look at what people like! haha, not only what we see as a layout of high standards . But for me, I guess its just I'm too used to peoples critcizm, the same mistakes other people make on their layouts are just a huge eye catcher to me.

I could've sworn there was an "official" topic in Feedback to alert staff of stolen/unacceptable images, but I couldn't find it so whatever.

The following few have nothing done to them (e.g. they're just screenshots of anime/whatever submitted to cB):
http://www.createblog.com/graphics/graphic.php?id=37965
http://www.createblog.com/graphics/graphic.php?id=37929
http://www.createblog.com/graphics/graphic.php?id=37928

And this one was stolen from a cB member:
http://www.createblog.com/graphics/graphic.php?id=37944
(Original located here: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=174332 )

Wait, so you're saying that layout was accepted onlybecause we need more of those types of layouts? blink.gif

No, not at all, sorry.

I was responding to him saying we need more masculine layouts, just by saying that we can only accept what people submit. Not that we automatically accept them to make a quote or anything.

Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Ok this is getting really bad. PLEASE watch for obvious copyright violations. Seriously, it takes all of two minutes to type keywords into deviantart search. These were found within the first 3 pages.

It happens, and Jackie you have to understand with the new hiring theres newer staff members and aren't aware of all the little things that need to be done while going through the queue.

But I guess now they know.

Make sure to go to deviantart and search for something that looks suspicious.

Oh yea layout wise, I don't think it ever passed one whether you could delete those or not because I remember asking a while back and was going to delete them but someone said since they were so popular and such not to bother about it. *shrug*

I don't frequent DA but back when I would go through queue if there was anything that had amazing photography (unless they were known for it) I would check. It takes two seconds. It's not like this is the first time it's happened or it's getting any better. It seems to be the same people over and over again.

Popular or not, that would need written permission by the original artist and credits would have to be added. Otherwise they will be contacted (I will make sure of it) and charges can be made.

A direct quote from the submission requirements

NOTE: Any pictures featuring the Eiffel tower at night will not be accepted. This violates copyright laws and a fee must be paid in order to publish it anywhere. (see Reference)

The lights aren't that visible during the day. I'm not saying that the french are going to care, but it's still a matter of principle.

I can see a ton of my friends using that one, actually. o_0 What's wrong with it? It's flashy and neon-bright; many people I see use layouts with that same theme. "New Rave"

With the last one..t it really depends on taste. I would of suggested a few fixes towards the creator before accepting it, but that one just is up to your taste. And we are not doing higher/high standards anymore either so personally I think its fine. I don't like it and I wouldn't use it but its creative and as you can see some people will like it. The only one I think can be rejected is the first. Header quality is bad the rest isn't great enough for it to be accepted so I can see where Jackie is coming from. Leniency remember that.

Although I do agree that some layouts accepted do need improvement. I'll go through and find them later I was just doing a quick browse. Guys remember (to the people that can accept layouts) we are being lenient... not pathetic. Some of the layouts could be rejected.. and actually removed more thoroughly.

^-- i have rejected that layout 2 times alone and I know it has been rejected by other staff members. I mean the arrow is cool but the rest is something my 9 year old brother could have made. I won't remove it because I have already done that 2 times someone else feel free to remove it if you don't approve of it.

Jackie-I removed some of the layouts and graphics you posted above... thanks for the feedback _smile.gif

Not trying to be mean but why is it that this graphic was accepted? http://www.createblog.com/graphics/graphic.php?id=38317

All it is is text. A five minute thing. I just don't get it.

Well see I kind of questioned it when I accepted it.

But I mean, come on people think about that old Beautiful Disaster. That probably didn't even take 5 minutes to make and it was an extremely popular image that went around.

So thats why I accepted it, if there are more exceptions to it then feel free to tell me and I'll think about deleting it. But considering we could question over hundreds of images being accepted and submitted I really don't think anyone should complain all to much

I realize people would like it, but there should be a happy medium between good quality and possible popularity. Right now, cb graphics/layouts are going down the tube.

Wow that was mature.

edit: since nothing has been changed, I'm just going to contact the original artists for every copyright infringement I see. Good luck with that one wink.gif

Wow that was mature. Anywho I know you're mad about the standards but our standards have changed. We are not doing this high class standards anymore. To an extent I agree with you but you know what we're not like before and things have became more lenient. So I don't know what you expect us to do about it.
