So... was I the only one that thought the majority of last night's show was pretentious?

Not that it wasn't for a good cause. Seriously. _smile.gif

But Ryan Seacreast? My GOD I get a cavity just listening to him. rolleyes.gif

So two go next week, eh? One guess as to who will NOT get booted. XD

Two chances to get rid of the Count Dracula.

Or, as some still refer to him, Phil Stacey

You know, after seeing Carrie and Kelly on AIGB, everyone pretty well pales in comparison this season...

Except Jordin. She has the pipes and the potential to grow.

And even Blake is marketable.

I think Jordin has potential, but mostly I think there's a big chance for her because of the youth factor. I think that people get fascinated by those who are young and talented. Like there's this big "WHOA" factor. It reminds me of when Leann Rimes was first marketed.

Blake has the potential to warm the nethers of tweenies. He's bubblegum to me and bubblegum is always marketable. Hubbabubba, Blake.

^ See, I agree with you on the youth thing, but I thought it would benefit Stephanie more; she seems more marketable to me. Stephanie should've stayed longer than she did.

But yo, is anyone else noticing the major Jordin whoring? They keep doing closeups on her, and she got the most solos on that one group song, and the judges think she's the best thing since Carrie Underwood (i.e. that overpraised rendition of what-the-f**k-ever she sang for inspirational song week).

I just don't like Jordin ermm.gif She can sing -- I'm not going to deny that -- but I really don't like her and I really don't want her to win. I don't know why, I just don't. Hm. I think it's because she reminds me too much of Diana DeGarmo.

As others have said, Blakey-poo FTW! He makes funny faces when he sings, though.

I call him Phil-feratu. You know, like Nosferatu? ^-^ And Sanjaya was San-vajay-jay.

^It angers me that they are so openly favoring Jordin. Ya, the girl has talent but give the other contestants the same amount of chance to shine.

To be honest, though, who would you rather market? Jordin, or Melinda?

Yeah, she did. Everyone was excited for a while when Ryan asked her to step forward, but then he said she had to go home. It was so sad.

I tuned out after the Bon Jovi night. Sorry, Jordin should have gone home that night. Period. She was terrible. I can't believe she's in the top 2. Whatever. Gimmick much? whistling.gif

^ In the words of my friend Meghan, she's "The Chosen One." Bullshit. But I did look on DialIdol and although Melinda's been safe, she's consistently towards the bottom, so I guess this isn't as surprising as I initially thought.

Doesn't stop me from disliking Jordin with every fibre of my being whistling.gif

Yeah but COME ON! I have no love for Melinda, but her Nut Bush City Limit was hot! I've had this secret wish for her to get voted off, but eh... she really didn't deserve to be voted off. Jordin is a joke and it's this big.. "oh she's SOOO young" crap that's keeping her on. Hell, Lakisha's performance was better than hers on the Bon Jovi night.

Oh well. &sigh

Can I just say I saw this coming?

No one really LOVES Melinda, and Jordin got LaKisha's vote.

I hope she wins. THat way Blake doesn't get stuck with the winners' album... He'll be the most successful from this season, anyway

Yeah. I was reading that this year they went more for personality than actual talent. Melinda will be just fine. She's had enough exposure and I think she'll have some opportunities come her way.

I don't think Jordin will 'sell' much. She may very well win, but I still think it's all a gag.

Blake... Well, even I like Blake and I hate most of them. I hate to like Blake, but there is just something about him.

Out of interest, in a competition where the purpose from the point of view of the producers is to find the singer who will appeal tyo most viewers, and therefore future fans and buyers, what do you propose would be the advantage of a predetermined outcome?
