We saw that there were folks stepping down. We also saw that there were some vacancies in the Head Staff and Design Staff areas. The Admins, Head Staff and Mentors put our heads together and looked at contribution, activity, strength among other things considered to be a good quality in a moderator. The entire staff even discussed a few of these individuals as well. Sure, in the perfect world we would always have a hiring process. The scope just wasn't as big for that at this time. |

I was always under the impression that we hold official hiring sessions when staff numbers are so low that we need to hire several people. These people had been standing out for a while (Diana in particular, since the other two had previously been staff members), and being that it's just one new staffer and two re-appointments, I don't see the need in having a big hiring session just to fill three spots.

hmm I find it understandable. Kathleen is so likable though so its pretty sad that she decided to go once again.
Theres a ton of people on the design side now though so I guess her shoes are already filled in by now with all the recent promotions. |
