Don't you hate it when you first discover something cool like a song, video clip, way of dressing, etc and everyone tells you how weird it is or they don't pay attention to it because they've never seen it? Then, weeks later, that thing may become popular and they suddenly say that they love it?

Makes you just wanna go, hey! I liked it before it even became popular! They'd just go and assume you're just saying that cause its popular.

Your input?

When I find something I truly love, I keep it a secret. I'd keep it a secret so that no living soul would find out about it and taint its purity. People tend to do that involuntarily, destroying things precious to others.

I don't like it when I'll be listening to a song or something and my friends will hear and then it becomes the persons/bands next single and they're all like "Have you heard it yet" and I'm just like "Uhm, I used to play that all the time" blink.gif

I think it's annoying when bands becomes sell outs whistling.gif (like hinder is going to do)

That happened with Augustana... I got their CD when it first came out, and they just started getting popular with "Boston". And everyone who listens to it thinks they're cool because it's... older rock sounding?

And I was also one of the first people at my school to wear flats, before it was a big trend. blah.

I liked Green Day before American Idiot. I liked Fall Out Boy before From Under the Cork Tree & Infinity On High. It gets on my nerves.
The same with skulls. Skulls are "in" now & I liked them way before they were selling at Rue 21, ect. _dry.gif

I was listening to the Hellogoodbye album, Here In Your Arms being my favorite song, right when it came out. Only not too long ago did everyone spark the obsession with that song, but i still like it. Same applies to a lot of other bands and such...

I don't like it when stuff like this happens, regarding music or not, because it ends up deteriorating the quality of the item/artist. If something becomes 10 times popular than it was when it came out, creators start to get focused on the money, sales, fans rather than their quality. It disappoints me.

Yeah, that happens to me all the time. I liked 30 Seconds to Mars's "The Kill" months before it started getting played on MTV and the radio.

It's annoying when it happens. Like ermfermoo, I sometimes keep things I like a secret so that other won't ruin its enjoyability for me. I know it sounds selfish, but really, I think everyone can relate to that.

I'm just waiting for Holly to reply... I know she'll have a boat load of things to say but...

I like My Chemical Romance years ago... it was annoying to see everyone tell me how stupid they thought they were, but then when Hot Topic spammed the bands name out everyone started listening... :/

Also, I introduced a lot of people to Finch... when I was about 15. I'm 20 now... most of you were 10-12 years old...

Kaycee would now like to represent all the people that you guys really seem to dislike.

I do not know underground artists. I am mainstream through and through. And while I understand that people are like "Hey, you didn't even listen to them before!" So? I listen to them now, and I like them. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, y'know? Be happy that people agree with your taste in music/clothes/game systems/whatever else you can think of. Be proud that you were the first one, don't hold a grudge because suddenly everyone else is number five million sixty four.

(Please.)

that`s why i don`t watch mainstream crap like mtv. it`s so annoying to see my favorite bands becoming EVERYONES. then i look like the trendy moron. hah. i`d rather not know, that way i can still like things instead of getting so annoyed at the people who only do because OTHER people say it`s cool.

My big thing was when shopping in thrift stores and what not became a main stream thing... like, the whole hippie-ish style.

See, when I was young, we HAD to shop at thrift stores because we lived in a single parent home, nary much child support and there were three kids my mom had to support. So it really pissed me off when those who had plenty of money starting shopping at thrift stores because at one point it suddenly became "cool" when it was a neccesity for us.

That and of course, I felt sort of an affinity to that style. It was part of who I was and for people who just wanted to follow trends started shopping there (and taking MY clothes tongue.gif just kidding) it felt like an insult. I mean, nothing was funnier to me in high school than seeing someone drive up to the school parking lot in a Mercedes and wearing hand-me-downs they bought for a quarter at the local Salvation Army outlet.

Yeah like when I first think of something and people say it's stupid,a nd the next day, they'd be using it.
