Im REALLY greedy with my music. I HATE telling people about what my song is called, or who it's sung by. Mainly because I don't listen to mainstream and it always seems like I find out about big bands, before they're big. Like Panic! At the Disco. I knew about them a few months before they became big and all of a sudden everyone was panicking at the disco and it got all crowded and shit. And Gym Class Heroes, they're gaining a LOT of popularity right now.

I like feeling special and knowing that I have such a HUGE collection of music and bands artists and songs in my iPod that no one has ever heard about.

I just hate it. It's also hella annoying when you tell someone about a band/singer and then all of a sudden they're a f**king groupie. EW. UAHGSLKBVSALKBVAS

XD.gif Dude, same here!
I have a million bands on my iPod and I'm happy when someone goes through the Artists list and finds that they don't know the bands that I listen to. It makes me feel original. _smile.gif

When I put a song on my MySpace, I take out the name from the URL and I don't write it anywhere on my page. I got so pissed once when someone stole my song and put it on their MySpace. pinch.gif

I agree but in a more calmer state.

I don't like when people always end up copying someone.

I knoooooow. I feel all cool when they're like " Who is this ? They're hella good " and then they always go on about the range of genres I have and all the unknown bands I have and how do I find them, then I feel all warm and smiley, then I feel all gay and stupid for getting so happy, but then Im proud I feel so passionately [sp?] about music.

I used to be like that, but now I think it's lame to try to hide the underground music you like. Why would you do that to the band? They probably hope they'll become mainstream one day because that's their art. They probably want to make money from their music. If you found them first, cool. But you probably didn't.

I like sharing unique and new music with my friends; it gives us more range of music to talk about and better CDs to listen to in the car rather than the stupid shit that gets played on the radio.

I totally understand if there's someone who copies EVERY SINGLE BAND you listen to, but otherwise, if they are interested in just a few songs/bands, that's cool. Share the wealth :]

^ Yeah that's what I meant ( about the person who copies aaall the bands and )

I know that I should try and spread their name, and hope that they hit it big but I still hate it (:

i know exactly what you mean, and i find it very annoying when people i know only know the mainstream songs not even other songs by those artists before the became big. although i do understand where they are coming from when they ask, but its annoying when they copy exaclty what you listen to and your opinions on it. like one person i know would go "oh i don't really like that song at all..." "oh i like it, i like the beat and just the whole song it makes me happy.." (me responding) then the person goes "oh yea me too!" ...wtf _dry.gif

sometimes i wonder if i would like certain artists if they never appeared on tv and radio, because once it hits tv/radio it is constantly overplayed. but a lot of mainstream artists were once underground right? they have to start from somewhere, and staying underground doesn't pay bills so they go mainstream. good for them if changing their certain style brings home the dough, like rapping about how much money they have or how many girls they bang a night. i don't think underground necessarily means its better but its just when they start to change in a bad way.

i don't get bothered sharing music with people. i love talking to people about it (when they have similar tastes), i love introducing them into my stuff but it'd only bug me a little if they don't really give me credit for it.

I know how that is--I'd like my obscure music tastes to remain obscure so that when I find somebody that also listens to said music, it's like an instant connection because so few people know about them.

I live by a bunch of rednecks, so no one really listens to my type of music. I usually don't bring my iPod to school because I get way too into my music. I'd want to stop everything and turn it up. I couldn't be one of those people who does their work while listening to headphones.

Haha, I do the same thing. Sure, I like sharing...but if they don't credit me, I get a little antsy. :x

The same thing happened to me, though! I listened to Panic! @ The Disco like a year before they got all mainstream. I even introduced them to my friends and they didn't like them until they got mainstream. stubborn.gif Probably a pure example of why I don't like to share my music much anymore.

i KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.

I founded cassie well not really i found her from keira on her myspace. and i asked her if i could use it too, this was like months before cassie became poopular.

i listened to P!ATD casue my friend mentioned it to me last october.

but you know if it is a really good song there is no way you can keep that song to yourself. someone will eventually find out the name of the song.

LIKE the song "This is why im hot " from M.I.M.S. and it got a couple of radio plays already when i found it on myspace months ago. its a really good song. but myspace is letting good music out, even the indie singers.

I know how you feel. Some of my friends come over and they ask me, "can I plug my iPod into your computer? I want your songs." And I was just like, "you can't take my music library, that's just like using another man's cologne."
