I was going to order Proactiv but i started looking into some of the older blogs and it seems as though it doesnt work by the comments that were posted. I dont want to put the money into it if it isnt going to work. Can anyone tell me does it really work? I dont have very bad acne but i want what i do have gone, and i do have very sensitive skin, is this for me?

my friend used to have a lot of pimples and then she got Proactive and it pretty much cleared up.
i think the results vary with the different types of people though.
if you have sensitive skin, it might seriously dry out your skin.
and i once saw it for like $20.

I use Proactiv. It's not as miraculous as the commercial says, and doesn't work nearly as fast, but it works differently for different skin types.

Heres the thing with proactiv it works on some people and on other it bombs. It really depends on your "body chemistry". Its a 50/50 chance it will work on your skin, AKA WILD CARD. happy.gif

yes it really does work.
I use it and have sensitive skin. so make sure to ask for the gentle formula when you order it because the package they will give you, if not asking for the gentle formula, will make your skin red and itchy. it works within a week or two so since you don't have bad acne you'll see results fast. biggrin.gif

I used it and at first I think it started to clear up, slightly, but then my face got worse. It didn't even help at all when I was on my "time of the month". sweating.gif And we didn't send it back because my sister-in-law mailed it to me, so technically it was under her name, so she mailed me one of hers. So she couldn't very well cancel it. But in the end it stopped working for her as well so she stopped using it.

My boyfriend used it and his face cleared up slightly, then it got much worse. It's true that it works for different people--my friend uses it and it really worked well for her face. I think my face got really sensitive to the benzol peroxide or whatever it is, in it. that's why now I've shifted to something else that's actually clearing up my skin...

Yep, you should try it -- it's only $20 now. That's pretty cheap, since what I get costs more than double the price sweating.gif You might as well try it just to see, no harm done in it wink.gif

I got it to see what was so special about it. I didn't have bad acne at the time, just a few occasional break outs on my forehead near my hair line, mostly caused because of my bangs. haha. but yeah... After seeing Jessica Simpson say "Try it!" so many times I finally ordered it. Now I use it once a week to keep my skin clear and smooth. I really did feel the "difference" they talk about on the commercial. I always used Neutrogena and I did keep my face clean, but the feeling was very different. Very fresh. It made my skin very smooth and it does appear to help with the "healthy glow" stuff. No it doesn't work for eveyone, but hey, if it doesn't you can just get yor money back. At least you'll know it doesn't work for you.

Yes, as everyone else has been saying, it works for some people but not others. It worked for my mom, but not my dad. Some people have a problem with Benzoyl peroxide, which is used in most acne products. If it doesn't seem to work, try Neutrogena. Their stuff is really good and it's based with salicyclic acid, another popular acne-fighting treatment.

I've never tried it, I want to.. I tried this face set LIKE proactiv by Clinique. It's nice.
But my friend used proactiv, it worked until she STOPPED using it, then her icky skin came back again. So basically, use it, you're stuck with it. =D IDK But that was just her.

that happened to my sister too. our mom got tired of paying for it and then she stopped using it. Then it just got worse. Now she uses this stuff the dermotologist prescribed.

if someone stop it, use another brand.

you have no choice but to buy a cheaper brand.

dont just .. water your face w/ nothing.

yes yes yes!
proactiv is amazing stuff.
excersizing also helps get rid of acne, because you sweat out bad toxins that cause breakouts.

I used to use it, and I used it for about three months. Nothing cleared up. My friend had also tried it and she still uses it now, and she gets breakouts once in a while. It was basically a rip off for me =\

I think it depends on your skin type - from what I've heard, those with really, really bad acne didn't see much of a difference, but if you have normal/combination skin with no major problems, it seems to clear everything up. It worked for me.

^Yeah, that's pretty much it. Birth control helped me, Proactiv didn't, but that's not to say it doesn't help a ton of other people.

Sometimes it works,
sometimes it doesn't.
I read somewhere that you have to use it consistantly for 6 weeks for it to work well.
So that's what I'm doing.
For me, it doesn't get rid of pimples,
it just prevents new ones.

i use neutrogena on-the-spot acne treatment. it's 2309489302 times cheaper than proactiv and works a lot better for me too... whenever i stopped using proactiv i'd break out much worse than the initial break outs.
