it'd be much too hard trying to explain to an atheist/agnostic on whether masturbation is a sin...

but yes, for the Christians out there, masturbation is a sin. you're lusting after some naked girl on your pc or magazine in your heart. Jesus said that even lusting after a girl in your heart = adultery.

Course, there are PLENTY of arguments against this (like masturbating without looking at pr0n or whether wet dreams would then be considered a sin), but for me to cover all of those aspects would take up way too much of my time and this page...

it's a sin. it's okay if you do it tho.. you aren't suppose to follow all the church rules, aslong as you don't do something incredibly stupid, you'll be fine. it's usually not a guys fault when he gets turned on, so if he does, masturbation can keep him from pouncing on the next thing with legs.

As nasty as it is, it is having sex with yourself.

The only way you can have sex with yourself is if you had both sex organs doing what is sexual intercourse...so...basically...you can't have sex with yourself

I'm catholic and from what I've read in the bible so far it mentions nothing about masterbation being a sin. If anyone has an actual line from the bible stating otherwise please prove it to me If ur priest is telling u otherwise he's giving u his word not the word of God It says no sex before marriage but it doesn't say anything about being able to pleasure yourself a great sin....not everything that makes u feel good is a bad thing.

Actually believe it or not u can actually hurt urself during masterbation. I know it seems wierd but my brothers friend accidentally pulled like a nerve or something while doing it and he got this really big headache and passed out. sad to say.. not everyone is perfect.. and just because of some people's action, the whole church should not be looked down upon. everyone does something wrong in there life, needless to say waht they have done wrong and what are at fault.

Yes I know my commandemnts If what u say is true to you then stick with it! It is your opinion and it is how you choose to interpret the commandments. That's ur point of view and not gods! The only true way to know if it is a sin or not is by asking god himself and u can't do that until you die.

My friend is an extreme muslim and it is stated very clearly in their Quaran(sp?) that they consider it a sin. Even looking at it or touching it is a sin. some of them evenn bathe with their clothes on because of it.

Oh and just because a few catholic priests were caught molesting boys does not mean that they are all child molesters. It just means that these men were a couple of sick fucks and it has nothing to do with their religion thry were just messed up in the head.

Being a male and a catholic priest doen't automatically mean that u r going to want and have sex with little boys. There are many religions out there that say you cannot have sex before marriage and masturbating is a sin, but that does not cause priests worldwide to up and decide that they r going to molest children somehow everyone likes to focus and blame problems on the christain religion, I don't know y there are so many religions that are more strict....

I find this subject to be more opinion. Now of course some belief systems are against it and if you follow one of those systems then yes it would be. But if you're not a strick follower of that type of faith, have a belief system that is okay with it, or have no belief system at all then its not. As for my own personal opinion(my beliefs are my own, guided but not ruled by a higher power) its fine and acctually very healthy(or so I've read from statements made by Doctors).
