Seriously, in my opinion, i think you should wait until: 1. You are in love and you believe the other person in love. 2. You and the one you are in love have TALKED about it, and are comfortable with it. 3. You know the risks involved: -Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD's) -Pregnancy -Emotional risks (if you found him/her sleeping with someone else would it make you feel worse?) -Social\psychological problems. This one is a little more indepth and awkward. We live in a society that commonly has a mentality that is acceptant, and sometimes quite for sex with multiparter's and little focus on the importance of emotional involvement. Emotional involvement and proper arousal contribute a lot to a sexual experience. They improve feelings, lower any anxieties, and can make intercourse a good thing for a relationship. On the other hand, intercourse without the emotional involvement can have negative effects on a relationship, especially on the occurance of pregnancy. A bad sexual experience can lead to negative views of intercourse and members of the opposite sex. 4. And finally, that you are not doing so under any the shadow of peer pressure, popularity, alcohol, drugs, or coercion. Respect the other person's thoughts and decisions, even if you don't agree with them, women, too. Women aren't the only ones to be hurt when things get sexual. I've hear a personal story from a guy that was humilitated after a girl he was with told some people that he was a guy that "took no for an answer". His account was they had already started and she stopped and said maybe she shouldn't, he then stopped because he didn't want to push her and took her home. A man that respects women having it shoved in his face like it was something bad. Be careful guys and girls, the longer you have spent with the person the better. No matter what your age is, be informed. I think you should wait until you are at least 16. I don't believe that engaging with in intercourse prior to marriage is a sin if you and your partner are in love. I am 18, 19 next month, and I am still a virgin, not much by choice.but I don't care how long it takes to find someone that I am in love with to share that with. I've never had a girlfriend, so any-of-yous that feel left out, don't fret it. |

I really think it's up to the person. I would want to enforce waiting until your married or at least engaged, but if it's what you wanna do, then go ahead. There's no law saying you can't (Unless it's incest or your partner is under 18 or 21, can't remember what it is). Do what you want.

I'd say that most people lost their virginity at around 16 or 17.
But I would say that you should wait until you know the other person loves you and you know you love him. Otherwise, it wouldn't be worth it. You have to be in love before you have sex in my opinion. It's not making love if you aren't, it's just sex. |
