Black history month isn't a holiday or a clebration where us black people get together and act like we're more deseving than other races with parades and parties. Its a month where we recognize the black men and women who also contributed to our society as well. I'm in my 12th year in school, and I never heard about a black scientist, political activist, writer, or inventor outside of black history month. I'm grateful for this month. FYI There is a Hispanic and Asian history month. Sptember 15 - October15 is Hispanic History Month and May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. |
