I have never once in my life discussed anymore black history during Black History Month than I did any other month in school.
What about Irish history? Asian history? Native American history (and every other races' history for that matter)? We should give every race their own month. Hell! While we're at it why dont we add more months so we can fit everyone in? |

Blacks and whites have directly had problems with one another historically in our country, with blacks being the suppressed. If you don't think so, well to be honest you are mistaken. You know why there's a black history month? It's to respect the heritage of a race that was done wrong for many years. I don't want to turn this into who was shitted on the most though, because thats not what it's about. Black history month may not be the right answer to the problem, but at least its something for now. 300 yrs of slavery and another 100 in unequal rights and you're telling me that one month set aside to show respect is unwarranted? |
