Okay, so I am not trying to be racist or anything, but who here agrees with me that the black people are getting way more recognition than the whites? Now we have black history month, black activists month, and negro colleges/college funds? This is just not fair. Everyone believes that if we have a white history month then we will be racist? We aren't. Blacks are getting everything nowadays and if the white people try to put say into anything, it gets shoved back in our face as a racist comment. I love black history and everything, but I have pride in being white and we get no recognition whatsoever? Does anyone agree with me.. And please don't say I am being racist. I live in the South for God's sake. here's a link to the original thread: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58363 things to keep in mind whilest you debate:

i am the same age as you. i have been outside of maine plenty of times. and i am not immature in any way. and i have a pretty damn good grasp on reality. just because someone disagrees with you or thinks you're a complete tool does not mean they are somehow impaired or immature or naive. it simply means that they see things differently than you do. which, is something i don't even understand in my situation. i never once said that black history month shouldn't exist. i never once said that all blacks should just stop whining and go back to africa. i never once said that black people don't deserve to be treated the same as everyone else. i never said that racism is right or that there even is any in the concept of black history month -- i said there was partiality, yes. but that is most certainly not racism. it is simply america attempting to please the african american community. which brings me to my next point...
i don't understand what african americans want. from society in general, but mostly white people. you alone, in this thread, have made it clear that you don't believe enough is being done to honour them. but, it is impossible to bow down and name them as the master race, to give them all the money in the world to compensate for the pain and suffering of the past. it is impossible to make EVERYONE feel that they aren't criminals, slackers, self-indulgant little twits, loud-mouthed retards, or any other cruel and unnecessary filth that people spew from their mouths. so, what, realisitically, is it that they want? MORE rights? MORE protection against the inevitable prescence of racism and bigotry? MORE money, MORE opportunities, MORE respect, MORE days of the year where they can hold their heads up and say they've come a long way? i just don't understand why...when the rest of the world needs to fight and fend for themselves for the most part, black americans depend on the government and laws to do everything for them. that race card is so played out, you can't even see the lone black slave on the face of it anymore. i am not being immature, naive, or ignorant. i'm not even being as idealistic as i'm known for. i'm simply saying that...it's a bit much. it's a bit tiresome and a bit confusing to have to tip toe around certain people as though they're kings and queens while everyone else is simply demanding equality. there are far more pressing matters in the world, this country, than giving black people a clean slate for everyone occupying these lands. as unfortunate as it is, the more fuss is made about slavary and what you feel is owed to you, the more people are going to crawl out from the woodwork to tell you that you're nothing but a nigger. or that you're pathetic. or worthless. why force that upon yourself? why make such a loud uproar when you know it's simply going to cause you pain? is that what you want? are you all just such huge masochists that you NEED those words and those sneers in your face just to get up in the morning and make something of yourself? please. explain. and start with what more we can give to the african american community that will make them feel as though they are part of this country. because right now, i honestly don't think they want to be part of anything. i honestly think they want to be seen as completely different and seperate people from the rest of the population. they want their own set of laws, their own set of drinking fountains, so to speak. and that makes absolutely no sense to me. segregation is segregation no matter who is imposing it. when black people segregate themselves, it is exactly the same as when the mighty rich white man segregated them in the past. turning the tables and reversing roles will not make the situation any different. and please, don't just resort to calling me names or assuming that i know nothing. because like i said, i am the same age as you. i have lived the same years on this earth as you have. and i have had plenty of experience in the world and with people. you belittling me is not making a point in any way.
