Ok, I've taken the libertie of starting a to-do list of stuff we can start doing without having to wait for Mr. Jusun "Micron" Lee. Because I guess we're all just gonna have to be a bunch of Mr. and Mrs. DIYs.

Add suggestions and I'll edit it in. If you're a mod, edit it in yourself, but don't screw up the format or anything stupid.
  1. (8/5/08) Public Moderator Guidelines (Completed 8/11/08)
  2. (8/6/08) cB Wiki
    - Site
  3. (8/6/08) cB Podcasts
  4. (8/6/08) cB News
  5. (8/6/08) Update the freakin' Photography Hall of Fame (Updated on 8/6/08)
  6. (8/6/08) Tung only: Participate in cBNTM
  7. (8/6/08) Live cB Radio
  8. (8/6/08) Create a createBlog Facebook application/widget
  9. (8/6/08) "Expanding createBlog"
  10. (8/7/08) cB Idol
  11. (8/11/08) Organize an "Adopt a Newbie Day"
  12. (8/13/08) cB Mobile
  13. (8/13/08) cB RSS Feed
  14. (8/16/08) cB t-shirt Contest
Reason for edit: updated #1 - Rebs

Yes people! We want to hear YOUR voices now. Serious suggestions only though, and if there is even a hint of spam, the person will be warned quicker than I can drink a shot of patron! Well...maybe not that quick! Let's hear your voices! I and the rest of staff are on a mission to try and see to it that we do the best we can to accommodate some of these suggestions.

The mods alone can't officially attach a wiki to cB without Jusun, just for the record. If you want to start prewriting articles, go ahead, and we can maybe set up a committee, but do what can be done.

We can always just start one hosted elsewhere for the time being.

http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:dokuwiki
This runs on PHP and no database, so I can host it on my cbstaff subdomain if there are no objections.

Ooh, well that sounds good! At the very least, we can use it for pre-writes, and then attach it to cB permanantly at a later date.

What kind of stuff will be in the CBwiki?

The CBpodcast idea reminded me how a lot of HabboHotel sites have a live radio. And staff on the site are dj's and they play music and stuff. And people can request music and give shoutouts and they really brought a lot of people to the site. It's pretty cool. If CB had that, I think it would rock. I helped set one up at Neoextreme.com (R.I.P.) and I kinda remember how it worked. Just an idea.

You said it was to be a list of stuff that we can do without Jusun, and officially attaching a cB wiki to the site doesn't fall under that heading, so I was making it clear that this wasn't something that hadn't happened so far purely out of laziness. But you're welcome.

^Yeah, I think that would be best. I went ahead and made Arjuna an admin on the wiki just because I think he's kind of emotionally attached to the project, LOL. If anyone wants to register, you may do so here:

http://libertie.cbstaff.com/wiki

I haven't gotten much chance to look around and I have made absolutely NO changes to it. So if you think the software totally sucks, tell me and we'll go a different direction. laugh.gif

One question - do we want the wiki to be moderated (posts have to be approved)? Or more of a "community runs it" type thing? Sorry I'm not making much sense, I'm trying to get all my thoughts out quickly because I know there's a lot that needs my attention right now. xD

Oh, well we'll need a database I'm pretty sure to install MediaWiki, so unless we set it up somewhere else we'll have to have Jusun install the database and whatnot.

There's also the possibility that he already has and I can just get the information from Trish who I haven't spoken to in ages..
