Hi Everyone,

I just came back from moving, and I've been gone about a month. I must admit, it wasn't a nice return. I found two messages explaining that my layouts have been rejected. Yet, the two layouts it said were ones I'd had accepted 'months' prior. One of them was accepted back in February, and had a lot of hits and some positive feedback on it. The other I'd had accepted in June, and was quite similar to the first as to how people were responding to it.

The messages I got saying they were simply rejected and to try again were sent on August the 9th and 10th. Maybe I missed something, but why were they deleted if they'd already been accepted so long ago? And with no explination? I'm rather confused.

I'd really appreciate any feeback you guys can give me on this. It's rather upsetting, really.

Blessings,
Sarah

Over the next couple of days, the staff will be doing a mass cleaning of all submissions. Any layout, graphic, or other contribution deemed to be below standards will be rejected, so don't be alarmed if you receive a PM about a layout that was accepted weeks ago. Think of this as an encouragement to raise the standards of our content. _smile.gif

As you know about the mass cleaning, please accept your rejected layout as motivation, consideration, and encouragement. _smile.gif

I'd like to add that after a submission is accepted, there isn't an area for a moderator to write an explanation when rejecting it (after acceptance). Which is why you received the default, common letter saying it was rejected. Perhaps we could have it on that page as well.

^ Yeah, I felt bad when I rejected layouts that I couldn't offer an explanation that day. Mona, that would be a great idea!

Hey Again,

I wanna thank you guys for replying. It was rather upsetting and confusing to come back to check on my layouts and find those messages. I never knew that there wasn't even an option for mods to send a custom message when deleting layouts like that, either. I can understand why now. ^_^ It was kinda offending before when I didn't know, to think that the mod didn't even have the time to explain to me why. I think it'd be a great idea to allow the mods to add the feedback, though. It'd be an improvement, for sure. It could also allow the mods to give a little explination of what can be improved apon? I know that sounds like an awful lot of work, but it'd make a world of difference for those who're still trying to develope their skills. ^_^

And thanks for pointing out the mass cleaning you guys did. That makes a lot more sense, too. Guess I just chose a bad time to not be around. lol. Even though it's still kinda depressing to think those weren't 'up to standards', after thinking they were. <.< But, ah well. I'm not gonna complain about it. I can understand why you'd do a mass clean like that.

Blessings,
Sarah

Oh, mods do submit a personal response and list improvements, things wrong with the submission, etc. We already have that implemented. :) The problem is that the rejection box isn't on the page after a submission is accepted. So if another mod wants to reject it, he/she can't explain why.

Thank you for bringing it up; it didn't cross my mind. sweating.gif

Everything should be fine now. _smile.gif Topic closed.
