okay i'm going to try again.
I am doing a debate in Social Studies about the War of 1812. i have to debate on the Federalist side saying that the War of 1812 was bad for America. **please give me all your thoughts on why the war was bad for america**~please don't move this to homework because i am doing an actual debate on it. the other side is the Republican side saying that the war of 1812 was necessary for America. my social studies teacher sees everything in the world as a debate so please just give me your ideas instead of giving me a hard time~ |

i cant help you... i am sorry if you get frustrated, but this isnt a debate! your just asking for opinions solely on one side of the arguement, and therefore this is inappropriate place, but i agree with crazyjew, if you have a personal problem, pm the 'mover'

I, being the one who said "this should be moved to homework" will tell you why this is not a debate.
1. you only want one side. 2. it's for a debate, not a debate. 3. there is no actual debating to be done. you're asking for points, not asking people to debate. it should be in the homework section. |

if your school has an account on any online info databases, try searching for scholarly articles in history journals.. or you know, google is great, too. or better yet, use what you know about the war to make your own arguments.

BAD -it's a waste -nobody wins (but you can say that the americans barely won because of the battle in new orleans) -the british's impressment didn't stop -a loss of money and human lives GOOD -americans gained their patriotic pride -gained respsect from the european countries -finally realized not british's territory anymore -national anthem |
