QUOTE(karmakiller @ Aug 10 2008, 06:35 PM) *
The difference is, is that during hiring sessions there is a thread where people apply for staff, then it is discussed Backstage and interviews are conducted. Otherwise, the staff brings up a name of a potential staff member and we discuss it and if they are interested then they get the position. Hiring sessions take a lot longer, and most of the time the hiring discussion threads for the community become a chance for people to bash each other. It takes a lot less time to hire people without hiring sessions. The last few have drug on a lot longer than they should have.
Ha ha, ay, the bashing is a problem that you mods need to regulate. Otherwise, I've seen a lot of valuable critiques done in those threads. And the reason they took so long was 'cause mods were taking so long getting their final decisions in and it got all messy and ish.

In any case, that's no excuse to not let the community have a part in the hiring sessions. You know how messed up the staff team gets when you only let the same people decide who gets hired? If you're arguing that we shouldn't have community supported hiring sessions anymore, well shoot. I know stupid but that's just dumb.

QUOTE(kreios @ Aug 10 2008, 06:48 PM) *
Of course there will still be events in the future, that during a time when we think there should be more staff, there will be community input. However, if there's just a couple of people that seem potential, we can't exactly go into the lounge and post. "So guys, do you think _____ would make a good staff member, express reasons why, and why not." It just wouldn't be exactly the right thing to post.
Realistically speaking, is that really how you would have done it, Thomas?

lol, nahhh, I don't stoop down so low as to member bash.

Let it be known that Rebs and Javonn are the only outstanding staff members at the moment. Sure there's other mods that may do their job just fine, and not even screw up like the others, but they're just good mods. Rebs and Javonn are outstanding.

You can post any pictures, on createblog, that I have posted, on createblog, myself. I have no problem with that. But, if you're sincere in your desire for some sort of "communication," you might stop vilifying me, and you might decide that whatever prank you hope to execute is just going to cause more trouble. Nonetheless, you can do as you please, insofar as it fits into the community guidelines, and, now that I've given you permission to post my pictures... this fits.

Just make sure to quote this if you do decide to post them - don't want any confusion.

what a incompetent mod

he warns me because of an inside joke with libertie, and then when I inform him of this, he scrambles to find some other reason to justify the warning.

My warning level will be reduced to 0% by the end of today or there will be revenge from all of us.

Heyo, can I have my warning lowered back down to 0% as well? I've been asking for about a week now.

I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. I got warned by James like a month ago by a miscommunication. Me and Betty (doink) already discussed it, but he wasn't there to understand the situation at hand. But I got my warning removed the next morning quickly enough.

So I don't think you should worry about it at all since it's a misunderstanding.

James, it was not, in any way, a stretch to find a justification for warning you for member bashing, given that it's been a constant problem with you for a while now. Also, as I'm sure you will recall, but had no intention of mentioning, I told you that if Dani looked at the situation and decided to reduce your warn level, she was welcome to, but that I was not, personally, going to do so because I think this has been warranted for some time.

As I said, I'm not going to reduce your Warn Level, nor am I going to apologize to you, nor, by the way, am I incompetent. In fact, I managed to find the warn button just fine.

Also, as this is about me being 'incompetent,' and not about any site related issue other than you disliking my actions, I'm merging this to Mod Performance, where it belongs.

BULLSHIT

you only came up with that excuse to save face. admit it, or you're a scumbag liar.

besides, this is a systematic problem. don't try to hide it in mod performance.

Ultimatum still stands. But by all means, continue being a passive aggressive f****t and escalate this even more.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I can ask an Admin to lower your warn level, and then just warn you again for calling me a passive aggressive f****t?

Anyway, I'm not being trying to be passive aggressive. I'm telling you flat out that I don't think I was wrong to warn you, whatever the context of that one specific comment, and that I'm not going to lower your warn level. I will tell you, for a third time, that if someone with higher authority disagrees, they are welcome to do something about it.

Arjuna, I'll say that while I don't necessarily know whether or not I would have warned you myself, but I think that Dee was within her rights to exercise her judgment when she warned you, and that being the case, I'm not going to reduce your warn level. Sorry.

The thing is, I tried to talk to Dee about my warning level THREE times (twice via forum, once via PM), but she keeps ignoring my reasoning.

Well, if she's replied to you, I'd put it to you that she's not ignoring your reasoning, but that she disagrees with your reasoning. Which is an important distinction to draw, and which is her prerogative as an Admin. And, you know, as a human being.

*edit*

That was a response to Arjuna, obviously. Not to the captain of f**k YOU airlines.

To be honest, 10% isn't going to kill you is it? You're still able to post yes? Besides just wait one more week and it'll disappear. Even though you may not agree with Dee's action to warn you, she still is an Admin, and she thought it was best to warn you at the time, and she still believes what she did was right.

Well, I'd imagine, given that Dee is not a stupid person, and nor are the numerous other people who have read that argument, that if you HAD conclusively, and in a way which was IN NO WAY open to opinion, then she would have agreed with you.

I've disagreed with warnings before. Sometimes, the people who don't agree with you get their way, however right you think you are. I'm sorry that you're upset, but in a week or so it will be over.

Wait, say that again?

again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again

I was gonna post quotes, but I've posted so many dang times in the meantime that I can't find them anymore.

Anyway, I've said this at least 100 times already, I personally don't care about my own warning level. I care that the mods (an admin in this case) are screwing up again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again

I don't agree with her being Admin either.

I'm not sure what the heck you were trying to say in the top part. As for the bottom part, I guess you can consider me a little more persistent. ALWAYS PERSEVERE
