1)First Open an Etch-a-sketch Picture.You can take mines if you like.

2)Open the picture you want to transform.Heres one of my daughter and I.

3)Turn the image (my daughter and I) into a black and white image;Image>>Mode>>grayscale.

4)Then apply the PHOTOCOPY filter;Filter>>sketch>>photocopy.Depending on your image these settings may vary.The detail should be lower that the darkness.I used a detail of "1" and a darkness of "40".

5)Now go to your etch-a-sketch.Using your polygon Lasso tool, select around all of the gray area without getting any of the red.If you need to soften the edges go to select>>feather>>1.DO NOT DESELECT YET!

6)Go back to your image (my daughter and I).Hit CTRL+C to copy the whole image.

7)Switch back to your etch-a-sketch.Hit CTRL+V to paste your copied picture into the etch-a-sketch.

8)Now go to your layers panel on the bottom right and change the blend mode to multiply.

You can adjust the opacity if you feel you need to.

9)Erase any messy edges and Voila!

hey.
this is kool.
but the problem is that when i get to 4. my picture gets really dark.
is that supposed to happen?

I SUCK at Photoshop.
Really, I do.
But, I tried this and got it right, lol.
I love it;
It's easy, but looks cool.
And mine doesn't look as great as yours, but it's still effin awesome, lol.

hey. i have some help if you're having some trouble with this. 5. If you can't find a polygon Lasso tool, you can also use the Magic Wand Tool. and on 7. if the picture is too large and is not showing anything but the top right corner, right click and press free transform, or press edit>>free transform, OR press CTRL+t to resize it and then you can continue with the rest of the steps.
