Installing photoshop brushes

i saw that a few people were having trouble with this, so i decided to help. sorry if it insults your intelligence, but some people need a LOT of help.


when you find a brush you'd like to download, usually you click on a preview and a window pops up asking if you'd like to save or open. click save.



it will then prompt you for the location where you'd like to save the brush. you'll want to go the route that usually looks something like c:>program files>adobe>photoshop>presets>brushes



then after it finishes downloading, it will ask you whether to open or go on about your business. open.. NOT open folder.




hopefully, choosing the open folder option you will see your brush folder as the little manila folder icon with a zipper on it. right click, and choose extract all. if you don't see your folder, or for some reason, it doesn't open a windows explorer window for you, open one yourself and look at the same :>program files>adobe>photoshop>presets>brushes route to find your folder.



after choosing extract all, you will be prompted for the location to extract to. leave everything the same, except erase everything after "brushes/"


finally, open photoshop and go to window>brushes. click the little blue arrow on the brush window to get your options. select load brush and then find the brush you downloaded.

ok.. I did all that but I dont have photoshop installed onto my computer so how do I get brushes?

I can't get to 'Extract All'.All I can do is unzip it in WinZip.Does it do the same thing as 'Extract All'?

so how do you extract brushes on a mac...? O_o

i dun have the folder of PS..how come?!

I download a brush set but I can't load it into photoshop.I went to windows but brushes weren't there.Please help me.
