Ah, abstract art there's no limits to what you can do. Well, I was just messing around with photoshop and discovered another little cool thing you can do.

Start out by making a new image that is 500x500 pixels
Set the colors to default (black & white) by pressing "D" on your keyboard.
Go to Filter>>Render>>Clouds
It should look like black clouds on your canvas now.
Next, go to Filter>>Texture>>Patchwork
Have the settings as: SQUARE SIZE-1 and RELIEF-0

Press okay. Now, choose a color, preferably something you'll be able to see against the grayishness, like a nice blue or something. I chose purple. Set it as your foreground color. Then, choose the brush tool. On the toolbar above where it says "Brush:" click that. Pick the first brush, number 1. Make it 28px meter diameter. Off to your right, make your opacity at 45%. Scribble on your canvas crazily, mostly in the middle and with brief gray spots, so don't completely color everything in.

Here comes the fun part. Go to Filter>>Liquify
Choose the first option on your left, the Forward Warp Tool. User posted image
Copy the settings as shown in the screenshot:

Now go completely crazy! Mix the gray with the color you chose and just sort of mesh it all around. Make sure the transparent squares don't show up, so just lead your mesh to cover it up. Once you think it's mixed up enough, you can click okay. It might take awhile to load the mesh. It should look a bit like this so far:

Now go to Filter>>Distort>>Twirl. Spin it 407 degrees then press okay.
The next step is Polar Coordinates. Go to Filter>>Distort>>Polar Coordinates
Click the "Rectangular to Polar" option, then press okay. It should look like a sphere with a mix of grayish and the color you chose.

This last step is OPTIONAL(you decide if you like it with or without the square tiles  ) Filter>>Texture>>Patchwork. The settings should be the same as before: SQUARE SIZE-1 and RELIEF-0. Here's how mine turned out:

If you chose to do it without the square texture, it should look something like this:

There's lots of different varieties to this and you can choose to do them in your own way. Have fun!
