Creating basic Animations in Jasc Animation Shop

This tutorial is intended to provide a simple guide to creating animations in Jasc Animation Shop. Hopefully, by the end, youll have something like this:

First off, you have to have Jasc Animation Shop. If you dont already own it, you can get a 30-day free trial from [link]www.jasc.com/products/?[/link]. Alright, now once you have Animation Shop open, lets get started!
----------------------------------------------
Go to File>>New and create a document 100 by 100 pixels. Make sure Opaque is checked.
---------------------------------
Creating the Lines

select the line tool () and make sure that on the left, your foreground color is set to black (#000000).

On the document you have just created, make a straight black vertical line by holding down the shift key and dragging you mouse down. Make sure you press the shift key before you click on the document.

Make another straight vertical line, a little bit to the right of the first line.

---------------------------------
Adding Text
This is the part where youll be able to add whatever text you want to your image. First, click the text tool(). Then, click anywhere on your image. A box titled Add text should pop-up. Type the words you want in the white box, and change the font and size around if you want.

Click OK and position the text to the right of your 2 lines. Click to place the text.

---------------------------------
Animating the Image!
First, select the Paint Bucket tool(). Click the foreground color on the left and a window should pop-up. This is the color chooser window.
. Now you can choose whatever color you want. Ill be using light green (#80FF80). Click OK when youre done choosing your color. With the paint bucket tool, click inside the rectangle on the far left of your image to fill it with the color you have selected.

Open the color chooser window again and select another color, Ill be using a darker forest green (#008000). Fill in the other rectangle to the right of the one you just filled in.

Go to Edit>>Copy. Then go to Edit>>Paste>>After Current Frame. Now, you should have something like this:

All thats left to do is simply switch the colors around to create the animation effect. For me, since the light green is in rectangle 1, I have to move it to rectangle 2. Then, I have to move the dark green from rectangle 2 to rectangle 1. This might sound complicated but its very easy. Using, the paint bucket tool, fill the 1st rectangle with your 2nd color. In my case, that would be forest green(#008000). Then, fill the 2nd rectangle with the 1st color. For me thats light green(#80ff80).
.
Thats it, now you can see how it turned out by going to View>>Animation. If your happy with your results save it.
--------------------------------
After youre done, post your results here so everyone else can see what you made. Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask and Ill try my best to answer.
