Tutorial

Okay, I was messing around in Photoshop, trying random filters, and I came out with this cool thing, and I thought I'd share it with the rest of you.

Unfortunately there wont be any images for this one, so pay close attention.

1. Create a new document, 400px X 400px is what I chose. Make it transparent.

2. Fill the image with black.

3. Create five (5) lense flares, and position them: 2 on top, 1 in the middle, 2 on the bottom.

4. Go to Filter > Sketch > Chrome.

5. Go to Filter > Distort > Twirl, 165.

6. Go to Filter > Sketch > Halftone Pattern. Use whatever settings you like.

7. Duplicate the layer. (Ctrl J) MAKE SURE THAT ONLY THIS LAYER IS VISIBLE BY CLICKING THE EYEBALL OF THE BACKGROUND LAYER.

8. Go to Filter > Distort > Polar Coordinates, Rectangular to Polar.

9. You should see a circle-looking image. You also see an area surrounding it. Carefully, take the eraser tool, and erase that area, only leaving the circle-looking part.

10. Set the current layer mode to: Lighten.

11. Merge the layers (Ctrl E.) EDIT: Sorry, make sure that both layers are visible when you do this. (Both eyeballs are clicked in the layers palette.

12. Add some color. Press Ctrl U, and select colorize. Pick whatever color you want.

If you have any trouble, please comment and I'd be glad to help.
