A very easy way to make yourself a palette for vectoring images, especially when you're offline and can't get to online resources.
I'm sure this is possible as well for photoshop, I'm going to look into it and modify this later for a Photoshop version.
[size=7]The Steps[/size]
Create a new image with the dimensions of 600x100.
Set your foreground to black and your background to white, and then fill the canvas with the gradient "foreground-background" at angle 270 degrees, so that it fades from black to white.
Go to Image >> Decrease Color Depth >> 256 colors, and use the following settings.
So now you should have a nice, greyscale palette, which is great if you want your vector to be greyscale.
However, it's more fun to play with color, so you can go to Adjust >> Hue and Saturation >> Hue/Saturation/Lightness and have fun with it. You can make a palette for the skin, one for the lips, one for the hair... just go crazy with it!!
An example would be the palette I used for a vector this morning:
using, of course, the light end for the skin and the dark end for the hair and eyebrows.
Go crazy!
