i do this all the time.this is the first tutorial i make so sorry if i do sumthin wrong.heres what were gonna use:
ok,to split a gif into frames,you must right click>>save picture as.
next,open up adobe imageready.and then open your saved gif file.
when it opens,it should show all the frames used to make the gif.
look at the animation window that should be at the bottom.
there you have it.those are the frames or scenes used to make that gif at the top.all you have to do is switch to adobe photoshop and edit the scenes the way you want it.heres how mines came out after editing:
