NOTE! This tutorial uses selective coloring, so it's not translatable. SORRY GUYS! :(
Open up your image, I'm using this picture of Rihanna ♥.
Now make a new hue/saturation layer;
saturation: +20.
Selective coloring layer;
REDS:
cyan: -100
yellow: +8
YELLOWS:
cyan: -96
yellow: +21
black: -30
BLACKS:
black: +64
Make another selective coloring layer;
REDS:
cyan: -56
BLACKS:
black: +11
Then create a color fill layer #cf9da9, set to exclusion, 19%.
Next a hue/saturation layer;
saturation: +16.
Then press CRTL+ALT+SIFT+E, and sharpen. :)
This step is optional:
I took a fluffy brush and made an orb with the color #5f5f5e, set that layer to screen 82%. :)
Couple icons made with the same coloring (except the last step):
