In order to do this tutorial you need pixel fonts

There are many more pixel fonts but I use redensek and bangalore.

1. Make a New Document: 100x25 transparent
2. Get the Text Tool and write whatever you want (the font im using is redensek)Use a light color i am using #f49ac1 Make sure the the thing with the 2 "a" is set to none:

And if you are using [u]Redensek[/u] make sure the font size is 12
And if you are using [u]Bangalore[/u] make sure the font size is 8

3. Rasterize Layer : Layer>>Rasterize>>Layer
4. Now get the Magic Wand tool and select the letters while holding Shift

5. Expand Select>>Modify>>Expand and put 1 for the Expand Selection thing.([u]DONT[/u] DESELECT YET)
6. Make a New Layer (CTRL+SHIFT+N) and put that new layer under the first layer and fill it with a darker shade. (i used #f06eaa) then deselect (CTRL+D)

7. Now go back to the original layer where you wrote whatever. and get your pencil toolUser posted image
and choose the Hard Round 1 Pixel thing

choose [u]white[/u] as your foreground color and use the pencil tool and click the top left corner of each letter and it should turn out like this!:

That's pretty good, the only thing I do differently is instead of selecting the text after rasterizing the layer, I just add a 1px stroke to it. When I change the mode to 'Index', it automatically makes the edges hard for me. One less step?
