"okay so here's my problem. I can make the line. and I can start typing, but only the first letter shows up. it may have something to do with the two points that show up after I click to type. this is very frustrating. btw, I'm using cs4"

Had the same problem and like you, figured it was the points. (Its because we are both just that smart... lol j/k) So, Here is how to fix it:

Do everything in the tutorial, then use the 'path selection tool' (black arrow by the 'text tool') and click-drag the points out as long as you want.

The left point controls how far left, the right controls how far right, and the center controls where you want the text area along the curve. Finally, if you click-drag them perpendicular to the curve it will change the texts orientation. In other words, on a curve that is horizontal, dragging them down would flip the text upside down.

Author, feel free to add this to your post.

PS: I am getting sick of having to create accounts on every site just to help people... darn you advertising spammers for ruining it for everyone!

Okay, it lets me type what I want but it doesn't show up on my graphic. I'm not sure what's going on....

Have you ever had the problem of the Text tool never recognizing the path? I don't know if my installation is corrupt or what, but I can never get the tool to "change" to indicate it "sees" the path, and the text will not go along the path.

Your path might be too small, or your font might be took large. Your text disappears if it's too long for the path.

why does my text never appear when i started typing on the path, also even after i clicked enter. btw, mine is cs2.

Aw...I did everything and when I started typing, I got disappointed. I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0, not CS ;-;

I don't think I would've ever thought of that. But then again, I just got photoshop in June. ^_^
