1. open up your picture in photoshop.
i will be using this picture of green day:
2. make a new layer by going to layer>>new>>layer(or Shft+Ctrl+N)
3. select the gradient tool
4. set the gradient tool to the following settings:
draw lots of gradients all over the new layer. i got something like this:
5. change the layer type to 'hard light'. you can play around with the layer types and opacity for different looks.
after you change the layer type, it should look like this:
then you can have some fun and add things like the [url=http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41184]grungy pixel effect[/url] and text. i used filter>>blur>>radial blur to soften the colors a bit too.
