Oh, this is NICE. Especially since I have art that can be potentially ripped off my page by people who don't know how to take screencaps (it links to my dA page and I used this code for this one picture)... it worked, thanks!
Thanks alot.
I used this to cover my div background pic.
Yes, just remember not to cover up something with a scroll bar or links or anywhere they'd have to click, because they wont be able to.
You could probably do that. All it really is, is a clear DIV that covers up that section of you page. Keep in mind, though, that it will also cover up the content. So even though you'll be able to see it, you won't be able to click links, etc.
SUCH AS THIS
img src="IMG IN HERE" style="position:absolute; left:400px; bottom: 100px; z-index:9;" border="0"
IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO THIS WITH A BACKGROUND ? OR WHAT IF YOU WANT TO POSITION AN IMAGE IN THE BACKGROUND AND IT USES SOMETHING SUCH AS:
I think if you were to use this on your view more pics page it would get a bit complicated, because people wouldn't be able to click on the pictures to see them individually unless if you linked them and you only have so much space for a caption, so I don't think it would work. If you don't want someone to have the possiblity of saving or sharing your pictures just don't post them. (Or set your view more pics settings to friends only.)
does this work for the pictures in your pics section? or is this just for pictures that you put on your page?
Nevermind I figured it out, you do need to postion it, haha. Yay! ;D
It isn't working for me & I dont know why; I have the URL like mentioned and a clear image the same size, but the thing just shows my image I'm trying to cover in the top left hand of the page; what am I doing wrong? Do I need a div to postion it over it? Please Help ♥
marta, you need to put the address of the picture you are trying to protect in the code itself. look at the code, you see where it says "URL OF IMAGE"? well, that's where you're supposed to put the address of the picture you're trying to protect. also make sure that the size of the .gif is the same as the size of the picture. i hope this helps a little.. =]
ahh.. i need help. im new to this whole thing but i have to save my images people keep on stealing them. but when i paste the code in front of my images, it just doesn't work. do i need to add something to the code given. what am i doing wrong?
They don't always have to be .gif's. This will work for all types of pictues... as long as the clear.gif is the same :)
okay nevermind what i said in the last post. i got it! wee!! thanks soo much for the help though, you guys are awesome!! =]]
oh.. well now how do you do a .gif? do you just do it on the paint program??
neon: this code should work as long as you don't have your profile set to hide divs. All that it is is divs, nothing too fancy.
Maria... you'll need to make multiple clear DIVs then, unless if you have lots of pictures together, like in your About Me section, then you can cover them all up with one div. But if your images are far apart just copy the code and paste it for every image.
