way off in firefox and the croppy edges on domo kun makes me wonder why it got accepted

The misalignment issue in FF has to do with the padding you have on the content box.
Put it like padding:0px; _padding:15px;

Anyway, I kinda like this. Layouts like this never fit my screen.
