Yeah, I agree with Schizo, you should've made the buttons the navigation and have them press in when hovered or something :]
change the bg colors too :)

Other than that, it's good :) :thumbsup:

The background colour is too solid for this, especially since the main backdrop is a pretty blocky colour.

It would have been a lot better if you'd made the buttons to the right, the links, like schizo said, and then used that bottom center space for a profile pic and some quick facts. Or comment box.

I don't like your navigation - it's too in your face and not a great font for it.

But I like this idea, and think you chose well. Like I said though, you can do a lot better with this.
