Electric Cassette (DIV overlay) (comments)

pottergirl, I have no idea what's happening there. You must have replaced your friend ID incorrectly and/or messed up the DIV layers.

i am having a problem with my comment box. cause whenever someone trys to type in the commment box it takes you to another persons myspace page!

nope. I just copied the whole entire code for this layout. and the only thing I just changed was the positioning of my background. As soon as i did the links for the home and stuff where up in the left corner. They are also where they are supposed to be.. just wondered if you had any idea why

you must have accidentally messed with the coordinates, or deleted part of the image map code (the opening/closing tags, perhaps?)

ok i did that.. but the links are up in the corner. Why are they doing that?

you need to replace all of the XXXXXXs before you make any other changes to the layout and hit "save all changes" though, or the navigation links won't work.

miranduh, those coordinates are for the image map in the navigation. those coordinates are what enables the navigation image in the layout (home, add, message, block) to work. you should not edit those at all, or else the navigation won't work.

Well I changed this layout a bit. I made my own background for it.. and Im not excellent at div layouts but i'd say i pretty much know what im doing. But I ran into a confusing problem. I have to move everything up and over so that it fits mine. And the only thing that is giving me trouble is the navi thing. And the (coords="5,7,84,30") I dont know what that is. I've never seen it before.. what do the numbers mean? Please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks

emilyclaire, yes it's possible, but I generally don't help people with positioning customized music players/videos, because it's something very individual that I would have to position entirely for you, unless you have lots of HTML experience.
basically, you'd have to make a new DIV layer, and position it over the current music box. you'd also have to remove the current positioning code for embedded objects in About Me.
if you message me the embed code, I might have time to position it for you, or at least create the DIV layer for you, but i can't make any promises.
also, it would probably scroll or not fit correctly.

you know how the myspace music box is at the bottom?
well.. i have my own playlist that i just found. and its not on myspace. its a code that you copy and paste. it shows up on myspace as a playlist, since it has more than just one song.
is there any way to get it where the music is supposed to be??

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I've never attempted a DIV layout, and this seems to be the perfect "template" for me to start with. I am currently working on editing everything to suit me.Thank you!

lindsey, I actually say in the instructions thsr I have an alternate version without comments. It requires that I send you completely new codes. Too much stuff is different for me to tell you whst to add/replace. I'll PM you when I get home.

I love this layout so much!
I used it on my myspace but I have a quick question for you.
I don't like people seeing my comments so I hid them, but I was wondering if there was any way for me to put an image or a slideshow in the now empty space where the comments are.

heh you're amazing! You're one of the few that allows people to edit the layout.

Oh, nope I don't care...I designed this layout so that people could edit it to their tastes. That's why I made the header image separate from the table background image, so they could be edited independently.
