Covering the extended network with div overlay Options

If anyone knows of any tutorials... I think I'm going to need step by step help -_-

I've tried putting this in my "who I'd like to meet" section, just to mess around... I was hoping to do some trial and error and move my image over the extended network section....

But my image doesnt show up. I know the url is legit, I just don't know what Im doing with the coding...

If someone could explain it all, that would be wonderful.
