On the internet it said that they are remaking the 1792 Poseidon Adventure. Growing up that was one of my favorite movies and I'm actually very happy there remaking it because I want to become a screenplay writer and if they didn't remake it I would have

I think once in a while they can make a really good remake. But a lot of the time, the original is better.

It depends on the category of the movie being remade. As of late, almost all of the suspense/horror/thriller movies have been less then mediocre.
I enjoyed the remade versions of Ocean's Eleven, Manchurian Canidate, and Rounders. Though I'm not too sure if I'd be able to welcome a remade version of Poseidon Adventure. I've watched it far too many times to. Who knows if the producer would be able to do it justice; Personally, I'd just rather they leave some of the [better] classics alone. |

I haven't seen all remakes, of course, but anyway:
Some good remakes: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Ocean's Eleven Bad Remakes: The Stepford Wives, The Haunting The new War of the Worlds was pretty good, but I haven't seen the first one in a while, so I don't know if it was that much better. I guess I've got some movie-watching to do. ![]() |

most remakes are bad, like that Charlie and The Chocolate Factory was horrible in my opinion. same goes for the Dukes of Hazard

it depends really. i personally liked the charlie & the chocolate factory remake, but some other movies (no examples that i can think of) are better off as originals.

It really depends on el pelicula. There are good remakes and bad remakes. It also depends on whether the movie that the writers are attempting to do over was a classic. If it is, it would be almost impossible to create a movie that would equal or top the original.

There's no way you can win with a remake ..... there really isn't.
If its too much like the original people will complain that it doesn't offer anything new ... If its not like the original people will complain that the remake is bad and that its nothing like the original. |

movie remakes are beginning to get really old and are pretty much like the old movie just more updated with better graphics.

Some movie remakes are not as good as the originals while others are. I saw both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and the original, and it probably wasn't as good, but it wasn't bad either. |
