QUOTE(Nehima @ May 6 2004, 6:35 PM) i think iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. bush was just looking for someone to blame that we were actually capable of capturing. he fooled americans into thinking that we were "liberating" the iraqi people. but we're not--most don't even want us there and innocent troops are dying. the united nations didn't fully support the war. it isn't exactly smart to have the world dislike you. but if we take our troops out now, it will look bad because we didn't finish something that got started. so, in conclusion, i do NOT support the war in iraq--at all. ummm, not really. the iraqi people are thankful that we liberated them from saddam, it's just that they want us out ASAP. We're still there so that the country can stabilize. I don't see how troops can be innocent. It's as if you put them on the same level as civilians. if you didn't know, the entire UN didn't oppose the war. The whole world doesn't hate us. QUOTE We say it is a war on terrorism, but how come we are fighting ONE country. The terorist did nto all come from Iraq and even if they did they are the majority of the country. If it is a war on terrorism we would not be fighting one country. Way to show support for the troops in Afghanistan by forgetting that they're there. |

QUOTE i think iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Even if that's true, I'd still support US presence there. Iraq had connections with terrorists (plus sadam was evil) and that's reason enough for me. QUOTE he fooled americans into thinking that we were "liberating" the iraqi people. He didn't fooled me. LOL. Helping Iraqis and getting rid of Sadam is shooting two birds with one stone. Actually, add oil to the whole thing, and I think Bush pretty smart. QUOTE most don't even want us there and innocent troops are dying. That's the price of war... and it's also the price of freedom. Pray for them. QUOTE it isn't exactly smart to have the world dislike you. The only country that really has a problem with us waring and actually shows it right now is France. In other countries, the people may protest but their governments don't exactly care. |

That female writer from New Zealand? lol, just joking. i know you mean "waging war" So is there anything wrong with France not supporting the war? Are they in the wrong to have problems with it? Personally, I don't see anything wrong in them not supporting the war. I don't see why some Americans had to go all anti-French and rename "French fries" to "Freedom fries". If anything is wrong, then it has to be this stupid anti-French movement. |

QUOTE Waring? Peope are entitled to mispelled words, and that's supposed to tbe warring. And yes, warring is a word, look it up in the dictionary. If you want to do a spelling contest, I'm all for it. But I meant warring, not 'waging war'. QUOTE So is there anything wrong with France not supporting the war? Are they in the wrong to have problems with it? I'm not so narrow-minded as to not know that people have different perspectives. Did I say that there's something wrong with France protesting this war? I don't have a problem with the French and their protests, I was stating that as an example. QUOTE some Americans had to go all anti-French and rename "French fries" to "Freedom fries". If anything is wrong, then it has to be this stupid anti-French movement. How yesterday are you? Do you even hear those silly terms anymore. I'll admit that I thought it was pretty immature for some Americans to do that, but I'm sure the French have terms for Americans as well. I'm a French minor, I would know. |

Our "anti-French movement" is only a response to anti-America protests. Fair is fair right?

get it through my head. i must be mistaken if this war hasn't been called not only the war on terrorism but the war in iraq?? so obviously we are fighting one country, two if you add afghanistan. i don't see us blowing up iran, north korea, and other places that have widely known terrorist gorups. We are bing terrorist. Why because the definiton of being a terrorist- One that engages in acts or an act of terrorism.
adj. Of or relating to terrorism. Terrorism- The act of terrorizing, or state of being terrorized; a mode of government by terror or intimidation. Terrorizing- To fill or overpower with terror; terrify. To coerce by intimidation or fear Terror- Intense, overpowering fear. See Synonyms at fear. One that instills intense fear; The ability to instill intense fear. To these Iraqi people we are being terrorist, why because we are striking fear in their hearts. it does not matter if we mean to or not. the fact is we are. sure you aren't going to see it as terrorism, because you are obviously not being the one afraid to go outside for fear of being killed by invaders in their country. QUOTE exactly how many civilians were killed by american military action? not many. we are not being terrorists, we are not maliciously killing civilians. You do not have to kill someone to be a terrorist. Based on what is so far known, evidence that the total number of civilians killed in the conflict is well above 5,000. |

Isn't that part of any wars? It's not like we're pillaging or plundering villages or murdering them in their sleeps or flying airplanes into their homes. It's a war, people are supposed to be afraid to go outside of their homes. |

I just saying i would consider us terrorist because they are striking fear in my hearts if i were in iraq And I'm saying that it's a war, people are supposed to be fearful. I bet though if US troops withdraw today, right now, this second, the Iraqis wouldn't be any less fearful (if not more) only because they don't know which dictator will take control and make them suffer all over again. They're waging a political war amongst themselves. |

QUOTE(Kathleen @ Apr 21 2004, 3:14 PM) What? You would have them killed? I bolded it because I know there are Americans dying right now because they're fighting the war. Now, realize those people went voluntarily. I mean, would you rather us [b]ignore[/i] what was happening there, and let them attack us like that? Something needed to be done. Futhermore, war is a horrible thing, but it needs to be done. Come on - you wouldn't be sitting there, happily in your little chair with a computer right now if it wasn't for wars. Unless of course, you don't live in the United States, but that's besides the point. Those people are fighting for our country, so that people that live in it (probably yourself) don't have to cower in fear, paranoid that someone's going to attack us on our homeland. innoccent people in iraq, kuwait and a lot of middle eastern areas die. so it's no just the americans it's everyone. i dont' really blame you for writting, i agree with you, it's just that there are other people besides americans that are dying for a reason that isn't their fault. and we can't control it! |
