my boyfriend is really romantic and we've been going out for 5 months and always gets me stuff [spoiled] and for my birthday yesterday he got a $85 ring and he said it was a promise ring. he got me a $30 ring with my birthstone in it saying it was a promise ring a long time ago. how do you take promise rings? have you ever gotten one? if so how did it end up.. if you broke up did you keep it [since i'm sure they are normally expensive]?  [ok so maybe it isn't that shiny..  it has 7 diamonds and is 10 k. if you have a promise ring post your picture. i'm 17 and he is 18 |

haha. the name sounds like .. it's from the game. i dont have one because i'm to young for that. My sister got a golden promise ring since she was 17-19 years old and her bf was a year older than him. today, they're still together. they're 23-24 years old. amazing. The next ring would probably be with diamond in the center on the golden ring. |

how do you know how much your rings cost? how can a diamond ring cost $85 dollars?
 (by the way, it doesn't matter how many diamonds are in it, the only things that are important are: clarity, cut, carat, and color)...and, $85 isn't expensive for a ring...i wouldn't want a promise ring, the only ring i'd want is an engagement ring and my wedding band. i always thought promise rings meant that your boyfriend will promise to marry you and that ring is just something to take it's place before he gets you your engagement ring...or something like that. i never heard that it meant your boyfriend will never date your ex. |

My boyfriend is getting me a purity/promise ring for our one year anniversarry. Ha. He keeps on asking me what design I want and yeadda yadda. I find it sweet though.

no, i have not been given a promise ring. the idea is very sweeet indeed but it seems a little scary, too. maybe one day i'll get a shiny ring for my finger ;]

I'm getting my boyfriend a promise ring for our 6 month, and he's mentioned getting me one, but he's been a little strapped for cash recently, so I understand if it takes him awhile.
The one I'm getting him is only $45 because I don't think the cost is important. Currently he wears a 25 cent plastic ring from one of those machines. And I wear a cheap TOTALLY fake pink diamond Claire's ring. That's just our style  .The ring I'm getting him is actually called a poesy ring and it's a replica of some 16th/17th century ring:  (It's the silver one) The inscription is in French (Vous et nul Autre) and says "You and No Other".
