I, of course, choose Harry Potter (me being as young as I am).
Lord of the Rings is a bit.. confusing, hard to understand? I enjoy both, no doubt about that. |

Well, I would definitely say LOTR. It's much better written, and the movies were GOLD!
Harry Potter is like the childish imitation. There are so many m istakes, feeble plot lines, and whenever I look at it, all of these crazy obscenities pop into my head about just how insane whatever just happened was. And trying to display teenage grief by creating Capslock!Harry in OotP was very.. disturbing. The only reason I like the series at all is Draco. He's awesome. (Not the actor, the character, idiots...) I participate a lot in the fandom because I think it has so much work to be done. I mean, seriously, HBP was just sad. H/G!??! Puh-lease. HP is more fun to criticise and generally have fun with. But LOTR is much better. Which is why I leave it alone. It's fine already. |

Harry Potter attracts everyone compared to LOTR...
u have to like that kind of thing to like LOTR, in Harry Potter, your just reading or watching the book and you like it because its more appealing... but i liked LOTR but yeah.. Harry Potter wins. |

Ack - This is a toughie because I truly love them both. I went with Tolkien because it was just so unreal for that time and age.

I edited the poll to include the last two options. =P
This is a toughie. LOTR & Elijah Wood or HP & Sean Biggerstaff and Robert Pattinson? I'm leaning towards LOTR, but I love HP. |

For me, I prefer the 'Lord of the Ring' Triology. I don't know why I suppose it appeals to me more. Though I do love Harry potter, I seem to like the other more.

The Lord of the Rings is a classic. Harry Potter is a fad. There lies the difference.
Lord of the Rings all the way, for obvious reasons. It's more of a story then a kiddie franchise. And I'm not trying to be negative towards HP. You have to admit, it is a children's book. I've read them and didn't find them all that appealing. LOTR, I absolutely adore. It is just amazing. The story is so deep and Tolkien created the world to every little detail. He even gave all the races their own languages. It's almost like reading an event that actually took place in time. Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I just love the Lord of the Rings, haha. Harry Potter can not compare. |
