Table Backgrounds, semi-transparent. Options

Hey I posted a question like this alittle while ago but i cant find it. So anyway.. How do i make my table backgrounds have color but still be semi-transparent. I have a busy background and you can not see my writing , but i dont want to get rid of it just so that the words can be seen. If you could give me the code for semi-transparent table backgrounds that would be awesome. Thanks so much,
