I'm f**king sick and tired of racism too. Why can't people just be treated EQUALLY? I hate going to school, and people try to be make fun of how Asians speak. It's like "What the f**k is up with you?" I really hate it when people judge someone by their ethnicity, and they makes jokes from their ethnicity too. It's not funny, AT ALL. It does offend me when people do that, that's why I f**king yell at them, and slap them or something. They don't know how it feels to get their ethnicity dissed. God, it f**king pisses me off when this Samoan always f**king disses my race.

QUOTE(anubis @ Jul 14 2005, 8:04 PM) *
urgent.gif

so maybe i'll regret typing this later because i'm in more of a rage right now. but i am just SO sick and tired of rascism. and i want to know who else suffers from it. if it wasn't for the pg-13 rule, i'd be expressing this point a lot easier.

for those of you who are wondering, the topic made by brandonsaunders is different than this one. the others i've been sent (below) are different. mine is asking WHY PEOPLE ENCOURAGE IT. so don't try and get this closed because "oh you feel it conveys the same meaning."

IT DOESN'T!

so today, when i went to drivers ed class, this one guy--let's call him jason, was telling the entire class about one of his driving experiences.

he was like "okay so i was at this intersection, and this stupid chink tries to pass me... etc etc etc"

and then everyone laughed and giggled and thought it was funny that, jason, such a witty little boy, would use such vocabulary in something that was directed towards the entire class.

**for those of you who don't know what a chink is, it's basically the word, nigger, against chinese people**

and you know what? call me sensitive but that extremely offended me.

it wasn't necessarily the fact that he used the word (which was bad enough), but the fact that everyone was laughing about it.

out of about 30 people, i was one of two azn people in the entire class, so everyone around me consistently started staring at me and snickering going "oooh is it gonna offend him?"

and that just about pissed me off enough.

the other azn girl may have ignored it, but i wasn't just going to sit there and take that

so i basically blew up at the class.

this one kid was particularly looking at me and giggling to himself so i couldn't take it anymore.

i started yelling at him.

i was like "JESUS F***ING CHRIST!! WHY THE F*** ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME? WHAT? YOU GOT A PROBLEM AGAINST AZNS? ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME 'CAUSE I'M AZN? DO YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?! IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU?"

and he and everyone else backed down, knowing how serious i was about it. they were quiet about the issue, and the drivers ed teacher said nothing. she knew i was right, so she had nothing to say either.

--

so then my friends at drivers ed told me later that i was overreacting. everyone thought i was overreacting.

but i didn't think so.

i think i had a right to be mad at the fact that people think this is funny. that people think rascism is suddenly so funny.

and i thought of all the people out there that had to deal with these things--on a daily basis.

and me, living in texas, only encouraged it since, even when i live in an urban area in dallas, there are still some narrow minded texans out there that only see white as the beloved race.

SO

my question to everyone else is, do you guys ever have to deal with shit like this?

and if you're one of those a**f***s that make these remarks, or encourage it, why?

WHY DO PEOPLE ENCOURAGE RASCISM??

why do most people just sit there and let it happen in daily life?

stop crying you little sissy.

Where I Live There's Mainly Black People.
I'm friends with most of the kids at my school.
They usually call me like "Bing Bing" or something like "Chinese ____".
I'm not even Chinese!

So one day I asked my friend, why can you call me bing bing all the time but if I call you a Nigga you'll get mad.
Her response was "Because You're At The Back Of The Bus".
WTF ? I'm totally against racism. & Me and that girl are NOT friends anymore.

Racism and prejudice occurs because people will NEVER be treated equally. I do not encourage racism or prejudice, but we discriminate everyday. As people, we usually judge people by sight; from sight, we pick out the prejudices that society has built into us and use it to describe that person in our head.

People use the word 'chink' around me all the time. You shouldn't get so offended (I'm not saying that you overreacted; I used to go to an all white private school. I faced plenty of racism.)

I don't think the word "chink" has the same effect or history that the word "nigger" has.

There will always be racism and prejudice in the world. As a person who has dealt with it daily, it sort of becomes part of everyday life. It doesn't bother me because I neither have the patience nor the time to argue.

Bah, my dads racist against EVERYONE. Even people who're white like him. -.-; I don't know, i tend to believe that as long as i'm personally not racist towards anybody that it'll be atleast a little better, you know?

Its pointless in my opinion. It just makes you feel foul. I mean sure it may feel "good" but it really doesn't. Like whenever i'm around my dad when he's going on about whatever racist thing of the day, i'll feel foul by just hearing it.

Its depressing, uncomfortable, crude, idiotic - Yes. But nonetheless i doubt it'll ever fade, so i intend to accept it as another one of the worlds flaws. It has many.

This sound totally cliche and it probably never will die, but I wish there was an end to racism. sad.gif

My parents are racist people in general. I sometimes say things that offend people without even knowing it...so I'm going to be more specific instead of classifying (sp?) people by their races. I've been called chink many times...but I've gotten used to it.

I wish I could just go back to that time where it was:

"Can I hang out with Melissa?"
"Which one?"
"She's my friend in english class."
"Sure."

Good luck wiping out racism.

Chill out. You're just making a bigger deal about than there has to be. In return you're influencing some one else, who then makes a big deal about it, and the vicious cycle continues.

I've said this before a million times I'm sure. When you know the facts, racism is just ignorance. It should then be turned into comedy, unless the person is seriously thinking about killing another person of a different race just because of that.

But, all races are only .012% genetically different. Most differences are in the culture. So, stop sweating about it.

Racism is pretty pathetic. Regardless of your reason, there's no need for it. The reality is that people have made it an issue and problem.
People are people, thats it. Just because your black, yellow or even pink, doesn't mean your different from that person over there who's brown.

I think that the racism isn't that bad in certain circumstances. Like My friend's and I are all different, and we all make racial jokes all the time. I see nothing wrong with it honestly.

wtfever. everyone is "racist". i don't care what you all don't admit to. the fact that you recognize that there are races prove that. so unless you're blind and deaf, you definitely recognize the general differences between "white people", "black people", "yellow", and "brown".

yes, i agree with jake that culture plays more of a role in the nuances of our personalities, but culture sometimes go hand in hand with race. i mean, though they're so different, there are many similarities between the asian cultures, which help shape our predisposition on asians.

i highly doubt everyone here has never made a generalization about a race. if you never have, then you wouldn't even recognize that there is racism. the fact that you assume white people are racist against you makes you racist against them.

there are so many people out there who claim not to be racist, yet they don't get along with anyone else outside their race or culture.

^lol. i notice color differences because i have eyes, how does that make someone racist? there's a difference between noticing color, and taking it a step further to say that u look down on everyone who isn't urs. perhaps those who look down, should step down off their imaginary pedestals.

don't tell me you see no differences in races other than color, 'cause there are a lot... in the way people act, the way they talk. i'm talking about generalizations; i understand that there are exceptions. maybe there are no differences to you because you know the exceptions.

i think it's better to actually accept the generalizations rather than to ignore that they exist. i'm fine with having pride in my race. maybe if people had more pride, they wouldn't be doing shit that would potentially embarrass themselves.

i'm not saying i don't see any differences. i'm just saying noticing there are differences and saying that u look down on them specifically for those are two different things. i notice many differences, but i wouldn't say i look down on someone specifically for not being my ethnicity. i look down on people because they're f**king idiots, and that has nothing to do with their race

well here's a perfect example of our differences. i was raised to have pride in my race. it's always going to be ingrained in me. i accept that difference between you and i. i respect your opinion, but i'm also not gonna stop thinking i'm superior. you can dislike me for it, but that's fine.

anyway, my point is that racism stems from the realization of our differences. my post is towards those who claim to see everyone as equal. to me, there is no way to see that. there are always gonna be differences, and one will always pass judgement on others, whether it be verbal or not. a black person will always be different from a white person, regardless if they went to the same school, got the same job, and dress the same way.

you say you look down on people who are idiots. to a person like myself, maybe everyone who's not asian is an idiot. to you, it may have nothing to do with race. maybe you're another exception.

I definitely agree with you on this one, but people don't get me when I explain that. It's certain individuals, not the group as a whole.

yeah, but if u think everyone who isn't asian is an idiot, then u urself are a delusional idiot. we can obviously look around and see many intelligent people who aren't asian.

i suppose we do disagree though. i don't think noticing a difference is racism. i do think that believing u are superior to someone else because of race alone is.

Racism exists all over but does everybody practice it? I think not. I think that every race is different, and that is what makes us unique. Everybody judges. So if I am puerto rican and I judge a dominican who also happens to be hispanic, am I a racist? NO.
