Oh really, why don't post to me a link of a thread that has as much spam and member bashing as the two disses that is NOT closed, then maybe I'll reconsider and figure out another way to point out how I feel about these two threads?
*

if you read closely.. i said there are TONS OF USELESS WASTEFUL THREADS. i didnt say they were bashing threads.. i said they were threads of no use... like the many ipod vs. iriver threads... and the "who's your favorite anime character threads" thats are so common around the boards? i can find more threads if you want...

If you guys diss each other in an intellegible rap battle, and not mocking Jason or Dejay, I see nothing wrong with it.
*

Why not mocking? And why rap? In writing, poems/stories/songs can be used as a way to criticize. Also a parody is a form of mocking and it's a form of writing. Very intelligent, too, I might add. I wouldn't be writing a member bash, just a parody of this Dejay and Jason's disses except towards Justin. Oh stop double posting you.

If you haven't noticed, I have merged a lot of those anime character threads together, they are common, but they don't contain half the spam in the Diss threads. Which means, they're not as threadwasting as the Diss threads. Find me some more examples please.

What would be ignorant? What would be disrespectful? That it's going to be a parody?

For your information, you'll find that in poetry, many masterpieces are parodies.

While Jason and Dejay made an effort to make make good raps, ignorant is you mocking them. I think that is more member bashing and disrespectful than any other rap battle thread. And you are trying to disrespect me which is unnecesary because I am not undermining any of you guys.

And Justin, don't lump wayne in with me, because I have no control over what he does.

I don't understand why you would say that parodies are disrespectful and ignorant. Parodies are part of English literature as much as "battling" is part of Hip-Hop culture. For you to say that a parody is ingorant because it's mocking is ignorance in itself.

Dejay made an effort, does that mean if I write the parody I won't be making an effort?

How am I disrespecting you?

And guys, Justin and Wayne, take your battle elsewhere.

Okay I dont understand if these battles were actually member bashing then how come this thread was never closed by a mod.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...topic=68611&hl=

The thread went 9 pages and no mod dared to close it because it was fun and the people battling agreed to battle. So the member bashing thing is defitely out of the question. If you guys hate hip hop and rap then just get straight to the point and stop beating around the bush and I myself will step down and let it be but as far as this member bashing is concerned i find it an obsurd exuse. Say whats really on your mind and whats pissing you off because its already been stated before don't click on the topic. Like I stated earlier, I approve of the threads as long as there is not too many of them. One or two threads page should be the limit in writing and the Disses should all be done in the same thread when two opponents agree to battle.

Last but not least these rap battles in the past have happened very seldom so if you don't complain about it then it will go away, but complaining only draws attention to it and always brings more hype around it. A prime example would be 50 cent. On this site alone the majority of people dislike 50 cent but his whole career is built off publicity and he generates more talk than any other artist whether good or bad which makes his record sales sky rocket. Its no secret that controversey is always gains more popularity. So the best thing for everyone is to just let it be it will eventually fade into the mist, but the more you publicize about it the more attention it gets.

It is disrespectful to Jason and Dejay to mock their efforts and subpar rhymes. I doubt writers would approve if you took a poem you thought was wack and posted a parody of it. I think you are just giving rap a double standard from other writing. But whatever, as long as we agree that these rap topics will be allowed.

Good idea. The next time someone decides to spam the forum, we'll just ignore it. After all it will eventually fade into the mist.

But I am like you and agree that so long as these kind of threads contain themselves to the two threads, things wouldn't be so bad. However, if there is a Diss TWo, then who's to say there won't be a Diss Three?

Should we make this a rule then? No Diss three?

Why would it be disrespectful? Parodies are meant to be mocking. They put their stuff in the WRITING FORUM for goodness sakes. In WRITING (literature), expect parodies!!! If they have a problem with a parody, then don't post it in writing.

No, I don't agree that they should be allowed exactly. They're fine so long as there aren't too many of them.

You might as well pin it, then.

And when it gets to twenty pages, you can make v.2, etc etc.

I meant one diss per battle. Like Jason would diss Dejay and Dejay would respond. Then thats all for that battle. Not a "rap competition" forum game thing.

Yes I agree there should be no more than two disses to a page. I myself enjoy reading the battle raps but that doesn't mean that the whole writing forum should be clouded with so many raps especially after how so many people take their writing serious. I think that rule should be upheld and honored.

No more than two diss threads on each writing page is enough.

This is where I have to say you don't understand English literature just like I don't understand Hip-Hop. It's not mocking a member, it's mocking the material. Come on, there's a difference. happy.gif The person I'll be dissing is Justin, but I'll be mocking the rap. That's all to it.

I don't know, it'll take a while for me to come up with something... I haven't done this in a long time.

WAYNE, didn't you read what I said? If you guys continue this one more time here, yall will get verbal warnings then... well you all know what comes next.
