I always remembered your soft texture.
I could fall into your eyes and land in your heart.
With a delicate touch you curl your head back unto my arm.
I'm swept away.
Your eyes slowly close as if cautious but proud.
I return the favor, gazing at your face.
Your tall ears and graceful neck.
You were always reaching for something.
Wanting something more.
I held you in my arms and fell asleep by your side.
You glanced up at my face, and I felt your nose.
It was cold.
The look of your teeth, the art of God.
A tortoise shell present, wrapped in beauty.
With a smile I knew I could keep.
You were my angel.
