what 'html coding' do lj-users generally use to make those complicated layouts that look as if they're journal isn't a lj but a normal website? i'm thinking, layers?

also, for generator, you know those css style classes for the tables? can anybody tell me how many there are, which ones they are, and what they target? or, at least, tell me a site where they explain them too? please ♥ thanks! (i hope you guys understand what i'm talking about.)

To override a livejournal, there are numerous lj-specific tags (eg: GLOBAL_HEAD, LASTN_WEBSITE, LASTN_DATE_FORMAT, etc)

Generally people who do extensive overriding of their journal, use alot of css (which includes div layering, and even span layering) to edit the text/table coloring and size/width/placement/etc. The stylesheet is always placed in the GLOBAL_HEAD.

In order to add extra information/html/stuff that you normally wouldn't be able to enter into a livejournal, people edit the LASTN_WEBSITE. With that lj specific tag, a user can also remove the standard navigation found, as well as hide their usericon. This section will usually include most of the html to add say, a sidebar, header images, and various other coding that may be added. Other codes that go along with this and essentially do the same thing: LASTN_FRIENDS, LASTN_DAY, LASTN_CALENDAR
