I'm really sorry but I've been trying to figure this out for hours... I guess I am dumb, lol.
I want my LJ layout to look like THIS: http://www.livejournal.com/users/magdaenolia So what all do I do?! Please, someone help me. The only thing I need different from that exact layout is the background image. Guys...?

Sorry, but I'm not going to help you have the exact coding as someone else's livejournal layout. If you really want their exact codes, you should comment to that journal and ask them if you can also have their codes, with credit given.

I agree with Jordan, having your codes taken from you without permission is NOT cool - I know, as I've had this happen recently. But if someone asks me for help or for permission to use my code, I'm usually flattered - why don't you ask her?
