If you went to the ER before. How long did it take you to wait for them to come out and help you? And what was your injury or what happened to you that you went to ER?

For me, it took me nearly 3 hours to wait for them. I had an anxiety attack that i fainted twice and had double visions...and had a huge headache that everything was spinning. I thought ER supposed to take 3 minutes... or less than 5 minutes... not wait in 3 hours?!?!?!

then with me i have waited an hour to an hour and half because of my ankle and knee. it was stupid. i dont like ERs that much

I've never been to the ER.

I think they take a long time because they're trying to care for patients with more serious injuries, you know? Yeah..

I've never been to the ER before, thankfully...

Once my grandma was rushed to the hospital, though. She took an overdose of vitamin pills because she got into a humungous fight with my mom. So the doctors gave her this horrid-smelling black medicine that resembled tar to make her throw up the vitamins. sick.gif

She got better really fast, though. Hooray.

That happened when I was like...in 3rd grade.

The only time I went to the ER was when I had to get a C-Section. They induced me because I was late, but Gee wasn't coming out.

Worst 20 hours of my life.

I've been in the emergency room more than 30 times I think. No joke. Ever since I was born till I was 5 years old. In the middle of the night, the morning, afternoon. Yeah until I got surgery.

Usually I only waited half an hour to 1 hour because of my case.

When my sister had some joint problem with her arm we only waited for about 15 minutes. But it was like at 11:30 at night so it was pretty empty.

i waited around 0 seconds.. they weren't busy at all when we came in. but they interviewed me before going inside the room.

surgery in my underarm.

it was so painful. i felt the knife & cried buckets. i remember how that fluid made me all sleepy. it felt like i was high, really. it took about, a couple of hours, or just an hour, i couldn't tell, i was fast asleep after they were done. i remember going out into the waiting room & a load of people sitting there, staring at me. i guessed i looked all.. like a person that just went into surgery.

weird, but cool experience.

I've never been to the ER...but my brother has. He cut his lip practically in half when someone rammed an elbow into his mouth during a game of basketball.

He went on a weekday at around 2 in the morning...and from what he and my mom told me, he got it stitched up in about half an hour when he got there. =\

Once I had severe strepthroat and I was vomiting continuously, blood and mucus but I didn't know it was strepthroat so I was put on the semi-ER room, it was like not really ER but more than just a visit to the hospital. o_O I dunno. Anyway, I had to wait 3-4 hours, but I'm not surprised since it wasn't real ER.

Woah, you had the real thing and they made you wait that long? O_O Maybe there were a lot of pregnant people having babies that day?

real thing does make you wait that long.

it's an EMERGENCY room. some people have more URGENT emergencies. like, a cardiac failure. or bleeding profusely.

that also being said, the ER is usually a far way away from the lab and radiology departments.

an also; ERs are understaffed a bit. they have to get patient information entered in the comptuer and charts made out before the doctor can even consider your case.

they should triage you almost immediatly, and then if they have a room and you need it, give that to you.
