i think it's funny that people think emo is all soft and stuff. rites of spring is considered the first true emo band. listen to them and i doubt you will think it's a soft genre.

out of the two... emo. but the word has been bastardized so much, you could put almost but any band into that genre (dashboard, taking back sunday, my chemical romance, senses fail, the early november = emo? HAHAHAH!).

indie > emo > punk, in my opinion.

Id say emo came from punk..
since emo did start off with rites of spring and they werent as soft.. it evolved as a genre out of punk.
[in my opinion]

I'd have to go with "punk" on this one. Emo is just... err, I don't know not me. I absolutely hate Dashboard! pinch.gif

Hahahahaha.

You think Dashboard Confessional is an emo band? To me, his music is sometimes just sentimental, or foolish. You can't base 'emo' on just one band.
(But hey, I still love Dashboard. Don't mess with Dashboard. stubborn.gif )

Bad memoreys raceing though my brain, Braceing my self to face another horable day, Where will my place be tomorrow if not today, Trying to get to one pace to another, All hope is lost , Faith is gone, This fullish felling is comeing back to me..
