I've been hired to 2 different places around my area.

First, at a local McDonald's and then today at Foxwood Springs (local retirement home)

PAY
McDonald's-$6.00/hr
Foxwood Springs-$7.00/hr...and $14/hr on holidays (not just big ones like X-mas...all of them)

Downside to Foxwood Springs, all my friends hate it and I know more people at McDonalds. Please help me decide...

I think the retirement home. It pays more, and you're actually helping people.

FAST FOOD SUCKS.

If you're gonna be serving people, might as well be the elder ones. Customers suck. DOn't go to Mickey D's, haha.

I say the Retirement home. It even pays better.

Working at fast food has never sounded appealing..

I prefer you work at Foxwood Springs. Besides, they offer more money than in McDonald's, and you're actually helping the elder ones. If you work at McDonald's, you are most likely to be thought of a person who don't do good in school that much, and that you are a "high school drop out." I, myself, don't want to be labelled like that. That would suck. mellow.gif

Retirement home, definitely.
It'd help out more people, and it pays a dollar more, but if you count it up to the months, then it'd be around 10 bucks more.
Good luck with your decision.

You're asking this question because???

Foxwood Springs-- demonstrates philanthropy by helping the ederly and pays more

McDonald's-- isn't a job and you'll never be taken seriously with McDonald's as your only previous job experience

You work to make money, not friends. If your friends hate your well-paying job that teaches you to respect the ederly, then they can 'eat a d**k.'

Are yu okay with going to any one of those? If yeah then i'd say go for the retirement center one. It earns more money unless you would rather like to work in Micky d's

McDonalds is a NO NO, my uncle owns a short branch of McDonalds. They treat there workers like sh*t. They call you in all the time, and when you close counting all the money 0-MY..... Plus 14 a hour for holidays COME ON, I work at Six Flags and don't get that kind of pay off when I have to work 4th of July.

Yeah, really... I say you go for the retirement home, and not solely because it pays more, but because it'd be a better experience and you'd be helping people. And like Brandon said about having McDonald's as one of the last things on your resume... people won't take you seriously as much.

You gotta get a magical little degree for that. A better way would to get a real job that pays, buy a reseller hosting plan from some site and start hosting. I did that 4 years ago and well, lets say my own nation wide DSL and a small Cable TV Network is worth the money I paid for that $200 a year reseller plan. OoO the yous of being a entrepreneur. It opens many doors, im only 17.
