I thought this was really interesting because I didn't even really know about Vista. I just read the other thread(s) so don't yell at me.

You can find screenshots from a beta test here...

Very pretty... but is it going to be worth it, do you think? Pretty, but nothing I can't do with WindowsBlinds happy.gif

looks are fine, i see they've gotten rid of that useless sidebar, so that's good.
funny to see firefox there.

have to see how it runs tho. my next computer will probably run vista, then i can switch my current computer to linux. yes, i keep putting off linux... i have reason tho! i can't get linux onto the computer i want to put it on... it won't read CD-Rs and i can't burn CD-Rs anyways, and it doens't have USB...

Windows isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. For a light user, windows is great cuz it's pretty easy. Also, i've always loved the 'glassy' look so poo on you

eh? How is windows "easy" ? Even for a light user you can't tell me Windows is great.

How is it easy for a light user to deal with errors such as the blue screen, when they have not idea what it means. In my opinion Windows is worse for a light user because they don't know how to fix a lot of the issues.

And how is windows easier than any other OS? Granted its not as complex as linux, but Macintosh is much more user friendly then windows XP.

Looks kinda poor to me, especially since there hasn't been a new windows for how long...you would have thought they could have come up with something a little more unique. And yes, i am a windows user, through and through.

seems to me that you're just interested in tooting OS x's horn.

windows is quite good in it's own right. in fact, it's much better than OS x from thepractical sense of accessories and programs, in most areas except for graphics and media.

I'll admit I give OS X a ton of credit and am really against Windows. Its basically because I had alot of really bad experiences with Windows, and so yea.

However, to say Windows is better because there are more programs for it is not really a credit to the OS itself.

They put it back in.

They did, however, put the command line back in, too, so that's something positive to offset the re-addition of the sidebar.

Its going to be the most confusing release ever. There are going to be SO many editions and its going to completely confuse the general public.

also The new look is horribly ugly, the worst part being that they took the old look (whitish beige and stuff. ) and just surrounded it in a semi transparent box with a shadow. They didn't enhance anything about it except that, and a few features that are not exactly the most useful things ever.
