Untitled, A short story: 1st part Options

She held her hands in her lap, stared quietly at the floor. Tears were rolling down her face, and she didn't want any one to see. She'd wasn't always so weak. She used to be strong. At least until he showed up. Why was she crying over him? He never did anything good for her. He broke her heart so many times. It was like hot and cold, he'd love one day. The next day it was something different entirely. He was constantly leaving her and then come crawling back pleading for her forgiveness.

"It was all a mistake," he'd say,"you're the only one I really love!"

She wondered how many other woman he'd done this to. She knew why he had done this to himself. Taken his life. She was pregnant, and instead of taking responsibilty, he decided to kill himself. It was foolish, as terrible as it sounded, so many people don't take responsibilty and walk out. Forever.
She couldn't take it any more. She slipped off her heeled shoes and ran out of the chapel.
"Laura!" Her best friend, Michael called after her "Where are you going?"
She kept running until her feet were bloody and raw. The ground had a lot of sharp rocks. She collapsed to her knees, gasping for her breath, tears now flowing from her eyes. Michael chased after her, and he finally catched up to her.
"Laura..." he said in a soothing voice. He sat down of the ground and held her close to him.
"It...hurts.....s-so much." She managed to say between sobs "It shouldn't.....hurt.....so bad. I....hated him. But my heart....still aches.....for...him! It.....doesn't make.....sense any.....more!"
"It'll be alright," he said as he wiped away some of her tears,"I'll take you home. You can rest."
He let her lean on him as they went back to her house....
